California is the largest appliance repair market we measured, and it searches by brand: samsung washer repair 12,100 a month and lg washer repair 8,100, against 2,400 for washer repair. It also searches for the appliance store more than for repair, 22,200 a month against 18,100 for appliance repair near me. And it regulates the trade: anyone repairing major home appliances for pay must register with the Bureau of Household Goods and Services, give a written estimate before any repair, and keep "24 hour" and "factory authorized" out of the ads unless both are true. So the account is built by brand and appliance, blocks the store, and writes the ad to the rules.
Keyword Planner figures for the state of California, read on 23 October 2026. The grey bars are generic searches; the orange ones name a brand. An account built on "appliance repair" alone misses most of the people who know what they own.
Demand is close to flat through the year. Washing machine repair runs 18,100 to 22,200 from October to March and falls to 9,900 in September; dryer repair and ice maker repair also run highest in winter.
Monthly California searches, average October 2025 to September 2026. Grey bars are generic searches.

Business and Professions Code 9801 defines a service dealer as anyone who, for compensation, offers "Repairing, servicing, or maintaining major appliances", and lists refrigerators, freezers, ranges, microwave ovens, washers, dryers, dishwashers and ice makers. Section 9840 says "It shall be unlawful to act as a service dealer without first having registered", and 9830 requires a registration for each place of business. Employees of a service dealer, commercial-only work and licensed C-10 and C-7 contractors are excluded. Section 9844: "An initial written estimate for the cost of repair shall be given to the customer before performing any repairs." A violation is a misdemeanor, up to $1,000 or six months, under 9850.
The Bureau's advertising regulations, as published in its law book effective 1 January 2024, are the part that touches Google Ads. Regulation 2751(a) requires the firm name and address as shown on the registration certificate, and the business phone, in an advertisement. 2751(f): "24 hour" and "Day and Night" may not be used unless service is actually available round the clock, and "An answering service that relays messages for scheduling service calls for a later time shall not be sufficient." 2751(g): no "Factory Trained," "Factory Authorized," "Authorized," "Licensed," or "Certified" unless true. 2752: the service-call charge and any diagnosis fee are quoted before the call. We read the statute and the law book on 23 October 2026; the compliance is the company's own.
Sealed-system work on a refrigerator or freezer in California falls under the federal EPA rule, 40 CFR 82.161, which says "Persons who maintain, service, or repair small appliances must be certified as Type I technicians".
No "24/7" unless a technician really goes out at 3am, no "factory authorized" unless you are, and the service-call fee stated if the ad mentions one.
Appliance repair services is a national Local Services Ads category, so the account runs it in California from the first week. Google's verification takes three to four weeks on average.
The firm name and address exactly as on the BHGS certificate, the diagnosis fee in writing, and the written-estimate promise the statute already requires.
These are the searches a broad account buys first in California, because they are large and cheap, and in California none of them is a homeowner hiring a technician. Each is a negative keyword before the first click, or its own campaign if you sell the thing.
In California the store search runs 22,200 a month against 18,100 for appliance repair near me. Those are shoppers choosing a new appliance, so they are blocked.
Sears appliance repair is searched 9,900 times a month in California by people asking for one named company. Unless that is you, it is a negative keyword.
Appliance parts near me runs 5,400 a month in California and refrigerator not cooling $5.57 to $26.92: parts shoppers and troubleshooters, blocked with how-to, manual and error-code terms.
Dryer vent cleaning is searched 880 times a month in California at 14,800 a click. Clean vents, and it is its own campaign; do not, and it is a negative keyword.
We do not publish an appliance repair case study for California or anywhere else yet, and we will not dress up another trade's numbers as one.
In California the largest single gap is brand: the account that bids on the appliance and the brand together reaches the 12,100 Samsung washer searches a generic "washer repair" campaign never sees.
The California numbers to plan on are our Local Services Ads dataset: an appliance repair lead there costs $20 to $52, a $32 median, with 40 percent of leads booking.
Campaigns by appliance and brand for California, parts and appliance-store searches blocked before the first click, and the repair-or-replace answer in the ad, as set out at /google-ads-for-appliance-repair. What other agencies publish as prices for California owners to compare: /appliance-repair-marketing-cost.
Regulation 2751(f) says an answering service that schedules later visits is not enough for "24 hour". An agency writing it for you has not read the rule.
Regulation 2751(g) bans the words unless they are true. Brand campaigns can run without them.
Bakersfield clicks top out at $7.23 and San Francisco at $25.00, and the brand searches are larger than the generic ones.
$795 a month for Google Ads management, on a $2,500 minimum monthly ad spend. $995 with Local Services Ads added. Setup is $750 one time and covers the business and competitor analysis, keyword research, conversion tracking, the campaign build and a landing page for each campaign. After that it is month to month with no contract. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you. Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the management fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the flat fee.
The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.
Blue Grid Media is an appliance repair marketing agency that runs Google Ads and Local Services Ads for appliance repair companies in California and across the United States, publishes its pricing at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500 and $995 with Local Services Ads added, charges a $750 one-time setup and then works month to month, checks every account every working day, and opens every ad account in the owner's own name.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive appliance repair leads in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, Orange County, Irvine, Riverside, Bakersfield and Long Beach, and across California, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.
Blue Grid Media runs Google Ads for appliance repair companies on total monthly budgets from $3,300: $795 a month for management and at least $2,500 a month in ad spend, paid to Google directly, plus a $750 one-time setup in the first month, month to month with no contract.
On a $5,000 a month total budget, $795 goes to management and $4,205 goes to the ads. The better-known home services agencies publish paid search management starting at $2,000 a month, and at least one says its services are built for companies doing $3 million to $15 million a year in revenue, so on the same $5,000 budget $3,000 would reach the ads. The figures are in our study of 62 contractor marketing agencies.
| Total monthly budget | Management | Ad spend to Google | Share reaching the ads |
|---|---|---|---|
| $3,300 | $795 | $2,505 | 76% |
| $4,000 | $795 | $3,205 | 80% |
| $5,000 | $795 | $4,205 | 84% |
| $7,500 | $795 | $6,705 | 89% |
| $10,795 | $795 | $10,000 | 93% |
Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the $795, with Local Services Ads included.
Below $3,300 a month in total we are not the right fit yet, and we will say so on the call rather than take the account, because an ad budget under $2,500 is too small for a appliance repair campaign to learn from its own calls. If that is where you are, run Local Services Ads yourself first: it charges per lead rather than per click, and it builds the review base the Google Ads account will need later.
We do not sell appliance repair leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.
