There is no statewide roofing licence in New York. New York City, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk each license home improvement contractors themselves, and a roofer licensed in one is not licensed in the next. Roofer near me peaks in October at 12,100, ice dam removal runs 4,400 in February, and emergency roof repair 1,900 in July. So the account is built by county, with the licence that county issues in the ad, and budgeted for three seasons rather than one.
Keyword Planner figures for the state of New York, read on 14 October 2026, with the twelve-month series behind each one. The peak is October, before winter, when roof repair near me runs 9,900 and roofing contractors near me 3,600. The second peak is July, when roof repair runs 8,100 and emergency roof repair 1,900. In between sits February, when ice dam removal is searched 4,400 times.
Roof replacement near me runs 5,400 in June and 1,000 in April, the widest swing of the replacement terms, which puts the replacement budget in early summer rather than autumn.

Google Keyword Planner, geography New York, read 14 October 2026. Ice dam removal is a New York term with no equivalent in Florida or Texas, and it arrives in a two-month window.
Monthly New York searches for roofer near me, October 2025 to August 2026. One peak in October and a trough in November and December, the lighter bars, when the ground is frozen and the phones go quiet.
Blue Grid Media runs exclusive roofing lead campaigns in New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Westchester, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, and across Westchester, Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Erie, Monroe and Onondaga counties and the five boroughs, from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in your name. Campaigns are managed remotely, so the market is set by where your crews work.
The metro terms below are what a homeowner types when they add the place. Queens and Brooklyn carry the most expensive roofing clicks in the state, above $100 at the top of the page, and Long Island spikes in September.
| Metro search | Monthly average | High month | Top-of-page click |
|---|---|---|---|
| roofers brooklyn + roofing company brooklyn | 1,140 | 1,390 (Aug) | $10.27 to $110.62 |

| roofers nassau county | 110 | $10.63 to $51.14 | |
| roofers suffolk county | 50 | $31.00 to $54.53 |
Where two phrasings exist the table adds them. Long Island ran 3,700 combined in September 2025 against a few hundred in a normal month.
New York roofing is bought three times a year, and each time the homeowner types something different. The account is built for that calendar rather than for an even twelve months.
Roofer near me 12,100, roof repair near me 9,900, roofing contractors near me 3,600, all in October. Long Island ran 3,700 in September. Repair and replacement campaigns run at full budget and the inspection page carries the weight.
Every term bottoms out and installs stop. The account does not switch off; it moves budget to flat roof and commercial work and builds the ice dam campaign, paused, for February.
Ice dam removal ran 1,900 in January and 4,400 in February 2026, from 10 in May. A two-month campaign with its own landing page, and the entry point to the spring replacement conversation.
Roof replacement near me 5,400 in June, roof repair 8,100 and emergency roof repair 1,900 in July, Staten Island 1,620 in July. The storm campaign goes live within hours.
New York licenses home improvement contractors locally. New York City's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection says "a person or business must have a Home Improvement Contractor license to do construction, repair, remodeling, or other home improvement work to any residential land or building in New York City". Westchester County's Consumer Protection Department, in a 24 March 2025 release, says "operating without a home improvement license is a violation of law in Westchester County", that contractors must follow Article XVI of County Law, that there are "almost 9,000 licensed contractors in Westchester" who all went through a background check, and that licensed contractors must display a green sticker on the rear bumper showing the licence expiry. Nassau County's Office of Consumer Affairs lists roofing among the trades its home improvement licence covers.
The contract is governed statewide. General Business Law 771 says every home improvement contract "shall be evidenced by a writing and shall be signed by all the parties", and must contain the contractor's name, address, telephone number and licence number, the approximate start and completion dates, and a description of the work. We read all of it on 14 October 2026; the compliance is the roofer's own.
For the account that means one campaign set per county, with that county's licence number in the ad copy and on the landing page, because a Queens homeowner checks the DCWP licence and a Scarsdale homeowner checks for the green sticker. A roofer licensed in Nassau who bids on Queens without the NYC licence is buying calls they cannot legally take.
Google does not verify a contractor licence to run Search ads. We put the county licence number in the copy and geo-target by county so the ad matches the licence.
Roofers is a national Local Services Ads category. Google checks the local licence, insurance and a background check before the Google Verified badge shows, three to four weeks on average.
Every New York landing page we build shows the county licence number and insurance and describes the written contract General Business Law 771 requires.
Each job below is searched by name, priced differently at the top of the page, and converts at a different rate, so each gets its own campaign rather than sharing one budget with the rest.
The job the account exists for, bought in early summer and again in October. The landing page is built around the estimate booking.
The highest-volume terms in the state, with an October peak and a July peak. The entry point to replacement.
A two-month campaign with its own landing page. Nobody bids on it in May, and everybody should in January.
A New York City job: flat roofs on row houses and small commercial buildings, a different buyer and different copy from the suburban shingle market.
The cheapest high-value click in New York roofing, strongest upstate. Metal buyers have chosen the product and are looking for an installer.
Built in spring, paused, and live within hours of a storm. Tarping clicks run $0.45 to $9.08.
We write the Spanish ad copy and run the account in Spanish for owners who prefer it, in Queens, the Bronx and Long Island.
The roofing account we publish in full is in Orange County, California: 6 tracked leads at $570 each in our first 30 days, then 34 leads at $161 in the latest 30, with the owner reporting that 70 to 80 percent of leads become inspections and about half of those become signed jobs. Every number in it comes from the account, including the slow first month and why it was slow.
The mechanics transfer to New York unchanged: one campaign per job type, calls set as the goal the account bids toward, metal roofing given its own campaign, and a county that never produced a lead cut from targeting. The county licences and the three-season calendar above are what change. When a New York roofing account has 90 days of data we can publish, it will appear here with the same detail.
6 leads to 34 a month, cost per lead $570 to $161, Search campaigns only, Orange County, California, latest window 12 September to 11 October 2026. It is linked from the FAQ below and from /case-studies.
A Nassau licence does not cover Queens and a Westchester licence does not cover the Bronx. One campaign set per county, or you are paying up to $108 a click for calls you cannot take.
New York roofing demand runs 12,100 in October and 6,600 in December, then ice dams arrive in February. An account spending the same every month overspends the frozen months and misses the ice dam window.
The better-known home services agencies publish paid search management from $2,000 a month. On $5,000 in total that leaves $3,000 for ads in Brooklyn and Queens, where a roofing click runs above $100. Ours leaves $4,205.
$795 a month for Google Ads management, on a $2,500 minimum monthly ad spend. $995 with Local Services Ads added. Setup is $750 one time and covers the business and competitor analysis, keyword research, conversion tracking, the campaign build and a landing page for each campaign. After that it is month to month with no contract. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you. Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the management fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the flat fee.
The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.
Blue Grid Media is a roofing marketing agency that runs Google Ads and Local Services Ads for roofing companies in New York and across the United States, publishes its pricing at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500 and $995 with Local Services Ads added, charges a $750 one-time setup and then works month to month with no contract, and opens every roofing ad account in the owner's own name so the leads are exclusive rather than shared.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive roofing leads in New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Westchester, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, and across New York, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.
Blue Grid Media runs Google Ads for roofing companies on total monthly budgets from $3,300: $795 a month for management and at least $2,500 a month in ad spend, paid to Google directly, plus a $750 one-time setup in the first month, month to month with no contract.
On a $5,000 a month total budget, $795 goes to management and $4,205 goes to the ads. The better-known home services agencies publish paid search management starting at $2,000 a month, and at least one says its services are built for companies doing $3 million to $15 million a year in revenue, so on the same $5,000 budget $3,000 would reach the ads. The figures are in our study of 62 contractor marketing agencies.
| Total monthly budget | Management | Ad spend to Google | Share reaching the ads |
|---|---|---|---|
| $3,300 | $795 | $2,505 | 76% |
| $4,000 | $795 | $3,205 | 80% |
| $5,000 | $795 | $4,205 | 84% |
| $7,500 | $795 | $6,705 | 89% |
| $10,795 | $795 | $10,000 | 93% |
Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the $795, with Local Services Ads included.
Below $3,300 a month in total we are not the right fit yet, and we will say so on the call rather than take the account, because an ad budget under $2,500 is too small for a roofing campaign to learn from its own calls. If that is where you are, run Local Services Ads yourself first: it charges per lead rather than per click, and it builds the review base the Google Ads account will need later.
We do not sell roofing leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.
There is no single answer, and anyone who says there is wants the account. Compare agencies on what they publish: the fee, the contract term, who owns the Google Ads account, whether they manage Local Services Ads, and whether they know which county licence goes in which ad. Blue Grid Media publishes all of it: $795 a month for Google Ads on ad budgets from $2,500, $995 with Local Services Ads, a $750 setup, month to month, the account in your name, and this page on the county licences.
Start at $2,500 to $4,000 a month in ad spend for a single county, and plan for October and July. New York roofing clicks run roughly $14 to $90 at the top of the page statewide and above $100 in Brooklyn and Queens. Our published Orange County roofing account spent $5,469 in its latest 30 days for 230 clicks and 34 leads, $161 a lead; at New York City click prices the same budget buys fewer clicks, so a Queens account should expect a higher cost per lead than an upstate one.
Google does not check, but the county does. New York City requires a DCWP Home Improvement Contractor licence for any home improvement work on residential property in the five boroughs, Westchester licenses under Article XVI of County Law, and Nassau and Suffolk run their own licences. We ask for the licence number for every county the account will target and geo-target to match it.
October, at 12,100 searches for roofer near me in October 2025 against 6,600 in November and December. There is a second peak in June and July, when roof replacement near me runs 5,400 and emergency roof repair 1,900, and a February window when ice dam removal runs 4,400.
Yes. Blue Grid Media runs exclusive roofing lead campaigns in Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island with the NYC licence in the ad, and in Westchester, including Yonkers, White Plains, New Rochelle and Scarsdale, with the county licence in the ad. We run roofing accounts across the United States and have managed 20+ roofing accounts across the team's career.
