New York runs backwards from what owners expect: city clicks are cheap and upstate clicks are not. "Electrician nyc" runs $5.22 to $20.00 at the top of the page and Brooklyn to $17.45, while Rochester reaches $103.93 and Buffalo $90.93. The state searches for an electrician 22,200 times a month with a September high of 40,500, and EV charger installation reached 3,600 the same month. And the license is local, not state: who may call themselves an electrician depends on the city or county. So the account is built market by market, with the license that applies in each written into the ad.
Keyword Planner figures for the state of New York, read on 23 October 2026. The grey New York bars are job seekers and supply-house shoppers.

New York City licenses master and special electricians through the Department of Buildings. Since Local Law 128 of 2024 took effect on 21 December 2025 the rules sit in Title 28, Article 429. Section 28-429.1 makes it unlawful to do electrical work unless "a licensed master electrician or working under the direct and continuing supervision" of one, and to "use in any advertising the words 'master electrician' or the words 'licensed electrician' or the words 'electrical contractor'" without authorization.
Section 28-429.7.2 is the advertising rule: "All business vehicles, advertising, websites, and stationery used in connection with a master electrician business shall display prominently the full name of the licensee, the words 'N.Y.C. licensed electrician,' the licensee's number, and the licensee's business address." A licensee can be fined up to $25,000 per finding under 28-401.19. Outside the five boroughs licensing is set by counties, cities and towns; we have not read the Nassau, Suffolk or Westchester rules, so this page does not state them. We read the city code on 24 October 2026; the compliance is the company's own.
For a New York City master electrician: the licensee's full name, "N.Y.C. licensed electrician", the license number and the business address, on the website the ads send people to.
The city license does not answer for Long Island or Westchester. Each market runs as its own campaign, with the license that applies there.
Electricians is a national Local Services Ads category, and Google checks this license during verification, which takes three to four weeks on average.
"Electrician" is a job title as well as a service. In New York a broad account buys these searches first, because they are large and cheap, and none of them is a homeowner who needs a panel or a dead outlet fixed. Against them sit 22,200 searches a month for "electrician" itself.
In New York people looking for the supply house search 14,800 times a month. They are buying wire, not hiring. A negative keyword.
Apprenticeship searches run 2,900 a month in New York, with "how to become an electrician" at 1,000. Blocked with apprentice, school, course, training and license in the New York account.
Job and salary searches add 1,300 and 2,400 a month in New York, and the New York negative list blocks them with jobs, hiring, salary, pay and careers.
In New York, wiring diagrams and how-to questions look like repair intent and are not, so they are blocked with how to, diagram, code, diy and video.
New York EV charger searches ran 320 in November and 3,600 in September 2026, and panel upgrade searches 210 in winter and 1,900 in July. A New York account that spreads its budget evenly through the year is underfunded in exactly those months.
A New York service call still breaks even near $38 a lead at a $250 ticket, 40 percent margin and 38 percent booking, and a panel near $473. Cheap city clicks make the New York City service call affordable on Search in a way it is not in Rochester.
| Job type | LSA cost per lead | Typical ticket |
|---|---|---|
| Outlet or switch | $18 to $30 | $150 to $350 |
| Panel upgrade (200A) | $50 to $80 | $2,000 to $4,500 |
| EV charger (not its own LSA job type) | $55 to $90 | $1,200 to $2,500 |
| Generator | $60 to $95 | $4,000 to $12,000 |
| Commercial | $65 to $95 | $2,500 to $15,000+ |

In New York the largest gap is the license line: an account that runs the same ad in Manhattan and in Westchester cannot state the license that applies in each.
The New York numbers to plan on are our Local Services Ads dataset: an electrician lead there costs $20 to $65, a $35 median, with 36 percent of leads booking.
Service calls, panels and generators, and commercial work in separate New York campaigns with separate bids; job seekers and supply-house searches blocked before the first click; every lead in an account in your name. What New York electricians pay for leads elsewhere: /electrician-leads.
"Electrician nyc" tops out at $20.00 and "electrician rochester" at $103.93.
New York searches swing from 12,100 in November to 40,500 in September.
NYC 28-429.7.2 asks for the full name, "N.Y.C. licensed electrician", the number and the address on advertising and websites.
$795 a month for Google Ads management, on a $2,500 minimum monthly ad spend. $995 with Local Services Ads added. Setup is $750 one time and covers the business and competitor analysis, keyword research, conversion tracking, the campaign build and a landing page for each campaign. After that it is month to month with no contract. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you. Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the management fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the flat fee.
The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.
Blue Grid Media is an electrician marketing agency that runs Google Ads and Local Services Ads for electricians and electrical contractors in New York and across the United States, publishes its pricing at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500 and $995 with Local Services Ads added, charges a $750 one-time setup and then works month to month, opens every ad account in the owner's own name, and has managed 20+ electrical accounts across the team's career.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive electrician leads in New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, Westchester, Albany, Rochester, Syracuse and Buffalo, and across New York, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.
Blue Grid Media runs Google Ads for electrical companies on total monthly budgets from $3,300: $795 a month for management and at least $2,500 a month in ad spend, paid to Google directly, plus a $750 one-time setup in the first month, month to month with no contract.
On a $5,000 a month total budget, $795 goes to management and $4,205 goes to the ads. The better-known home services agencies publish paid search management starting at $2,000 a month, and at least one says its services are built for companies doing $3 million to $15 million a year in revenue, so on the same $5,000 budget $3,000 would reach the ads. The figures are in our study of 62 contractor marketing agencies.
| Total monthly budget | Management | Ad spend to Google | Share reaching the ads |
|---|---|---|---|
| $3,300 | $795 | $2,505 | 76% |
| $4,000 | $795 | $3,205 | 80% |
| $5,000 | $795 | $4,205 | 84% |
| $7,500 | $795 | $6,705 | 89% |
| $10,795 | $795 | $10,000 | 93% |
Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the $795, with Local Services Ads included.
Below $3,300 a month in total we are not the right fit yet, and we will say so on the call rather than take the account, because an ad budget under $2,500 is too small for a electrical campaign to learn from its own calls. If that is where you are, run Local Services Ads yourself first: it charges per lead rather than per click, and it builds the review base the Google Ads account will need later.
We do not sell electrician leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.
Compare what each agency publishes: the fee, the contract, who owns the Google Ads account, and whether it builds the city and the counties separately. Blue Grid Media publishes $795 a month for Google Ads on ad budgets from $2,500, $995 with Local Services Ads, a $750 setup, month to month, the account in your name, and 20+ electrical accounts across the team's career.

Yes. Electrician is a national Local Services Ads category, so it runs in New York like anywhere else, at $20 to $65 a lead with a $35 median in our dataset. New York EV charger customers come in through the general electrician category rather than a job type of their own.
$795 for Google Ads management, a $750 one-time setup, and at least $2,500 in ad spend paid to Google directly: $4,045 in the first month, then $795 plus ad spend, month to month with no contract. With Local Services Ads managed alongside, the fee is $995. Below about $3,300 a month in total, a New York electrician is usually better off running Local Services Ads directly first.
