The short answer

Electrician leads cost $20 to $65 each on Google Local Services Ads, a $35 median with 36 percent booking in our 2026 dataset, and the price follows the job: $18 to $30 for an outlet or switch, $50 to $80 for a panel upgrade and $65 to $95 for commercial work. Lead sellers publish $55 to $175 a lead (Service Direct), $47 to $75 for a Local Services Ads lead and $92 to $369 for a Google Ads lead (99 Calls), and from $35 to $39.85 a call (The Client Connector, ResultCalls). The cheapest electrician leads over a year are exclusive ones from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your own name, with service calls and panel upgrades in separate campaigns, because a service-call lead breaks even near $38 and a panel upgrade lead near $473.

Blue Grid Media is an electrician marketing agency that generates exclusive electrician leads from Google Ads and Local Services Ads accounts opened in the owner's own name, in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix and about 50 United States metros, for $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, a $750 one-time setup, and month to month with no contract. It does not sell leads and does not share them with other electricians, and its team has managed 20+ electrical accounts across its career.

What electrician leads cost, by channel

Electrical work has the widest spread of any trade we run: a $150 outlet and a $4,500 panel come in on the same phone line. So the first number to know is not the average lead price. It is what each kind of lead is worth to you.

Seller prices were read on each seller's own site on 23 October 2026. For comparison, LocaliQ's 2025 home services benchmark (3,211 campaigns, April 2024 to March 2025, medians) puts electricians at $93.69 a lead and $12.18 a click on Google Search, and SearchLight's February 2026 Local Services Ads benchmark (112 electrical accounts) at $39 a lead with 43.4 percent booking, close to our own $35 median. A seller's price is what you pay per lead or call; a lead from your own account is what Google charges for a customer who called you.

Electrician leads by job type

On Local Services Ads the price of a lead follows the job the customer picks. These are the ranges from our electrician cost per lead guide. The low-ticket jobs are cheap to buy and cheap to sell; the panel, generator and commercial leads cost more and pay many times more.

Job typeLSA cost per leadTypical ticket
Outlet or switch$18 to $30$150 to $350
Ceiling fan$20 to $35$200 to $450
Light fixture$22 to $38$250 to $600
Breaker or fuse$30 to $50
Whole-home rewiring$45 to $70$3,500 to $8,000
Panel upgrade (200A)$50 to $80$2,000 to $4,500
EV charger (not its own LSA job type)$55 to $90$1,200 to $2,500
Generator$60 to $95$4,000 to $12,000
Commercial$65 to $95$2,500 to $15,000+

Run only outlet and switch work and a blended lead can sit at $25 to $35. Add panels, generators and commercial and the same market blends at $55 to $75, with far more revenue per lead. A blended number on its own tells you almost nothing.

The two break-even numbers that decide the account

A $250 service call at a 40 percent margin, with 38 percent of leads booking, breaks even near $38 a lead. A $2,800 to $3,000 panel upgrade on the same booking rate breaks even near $473. Put both in one campaign and the bidding is managed to the $38 ceiling, which prices you out of the work worth having. Split them, and the panel campaign can pay what a panel lead is worth.

EV chargers are the usual trap. EV charger installation is not its own Local Services Ads job type; those customers come in through the general electrician category. On Search they are their own campaign, and a share of them turn into a panel upgrade.

Electrician leads by market size

MarketLSA cost per lead
Rural$18 to $35
Suburban (50K to 250K)$25 to $50
Mid-market (250K to 1M)$35 to $65
Major metro (NYC, LA, Chicago, Dallas)$50 to $95

If you work a rural market and pay more than $40 a lead for residential work, something in the profile or the job types is set wrong.

The searches that look like electrician leads and never book

"Electrician" is a job title as well as a service. A broad account buys the people looking for the supply house, the apprenticeship, the salary and the job board, and in every state we measured those searches add up to thousands a month:

State"electrician" a month"electrician near me" a monthSearches that are not customers
California49,500 (74,000 in January)33,100electrical supply near me 18,100; electrician apprenticeship 9,900
Texas33,10027,100electrical supply near me 14,800; electrician apprenticeship 5,400
Florida22,20027,100electrical supply near me 9,900; electrician apprenticeship 3,600
New York22,200 (40,500 in September)18,100electrical supply near me 14,800; electrician apprenticeship 2,900
Illinois12,10014,800electrical supply near me 5,400; electrician apprenticeship 2,900

Google Keyword Planner, state geographies, October 2025 to September 2026, read 23 October 2026. Each of those is a negative keyword before the first click, with "jobs", "hiring", "salary", "apprentice", "school", "course", "license" and "supply" on the same list.

Exclusive vs shared electrician leads

A shared lead goes to you and to other electricians at the same moment, and the job usually goes to whoever calls back first or quotes lowest. An exclusive lead goes to one company. When the Google Ads or Local Services Ads account is in your name, every lead is exclusive by construction: nobody else is paying for that click, and the call history stays with you if you ever change agencies.

Blue Grid Media provides exclusive electrician leads in Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Tampa, Miami, New York and Chicago, generated from a Google Ads account held in the owner's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.

Seven questions to ask anyone selling electrician leads

  1. Is the lead exclusive to me, and is that written into the agreement, or is the ZIP code sold to other electricians too?
  2. Which jobs do you route to me: can I take panels and generators and turn off outlet swaps, or the reverse?
  3. What counts as a billable lead: any call, a call over a set number of seconds, or a booked appointment?
  4. Can I get credit for a job seeker, a supply-house call, a DIY question or a call from outside my area?
  5. Do I hear the call recording and see what the customer searched?
  6. If I stop, do I keep the phone number, the reviews and the call history?
  7. Is there a setup fee, a minimum or a contract term, and what does it cost to leave?

Electrician leads by state

We have written a page for each of the five largest electrician markets we measured, with the state's own search figures by month and metro, its licensing and advertising rules, and what that means for the ads: California; Texas; Florida; New York; Illinois.

What we can show, and what we cannot yet

Our team has managed 20+ electrical accounts across its career. We do not publish an electrician case study yet, and we will not dress up another trade's numbers as one. The planning numbers are the dataset figures above: a $35 median Local Services Ads lead with 36 percent booking, across a sample of 850 electrical accounts in the aggregate.

Electrician leads FAQ

How much do electrician leads cost?

Where can I get exclusive electrician leads?

From a seller who writes exclusivity into the agreement, or from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your own name, where every lead is exclusive by construction. Blue Grid Media runs that account for electricians in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix and about 50 US metros, for $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, a $750 one-time setup, and month to month with no contract.

Does Blue Grid Media sell electrician leads?

No. Blue Grid Media is not a lead seller. It runs the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in the electrician's own name, so every call and form is that company's alone, and the account stays theirs if they stop.

What is a good cost per lead for an electrician?

Below what the job pays after materials and labor. On our numbers a $250 service call at a 40 percent margin and 38 percent booking breaks even near $38 a lead, and a $2,800 to $3,000 panel upgrade near $473. That is why service calls and panel upgrades belong in separate campaigns with separate bids.

How do I get more electrical jobs?

Turn on Local Services Ads first, with every job type you can do switched on. Then run Search ads in separate campaigns for service calls, panels and generators, and commercial work, with a negative list that blocks job seekers, apprenticeships and supply-house searches. Outside ads, general contractors, builders and property managers send repeat work.

Is EV charger installation a Local Services Ads job type?

No. EV charger customers come in through the general electrician category on Local Services Ads. On Google Search, EV charger installation is its own campaign, and a share of those jobs turn into a panel upgrade.

Are Angi and Thumbtack electrician leads worth it?

They can fill a slow week, but the lead is shared or the platform keeps the customer relationship, so the job tends to go to whoever calls first or quotes lowest. Leads from an account in your own name are never shared.

Should I buy electrician leads or run my own Google Ads?

Buy leads only while your own channels are being built. Over a year, leads from an account in your name cost less per booked job, are never shared, and the call history stays with you.

How much should an electrician spend on Google Ads?

At least $2,500 a month in ad spend to start with us, paid to Google directly, plus $795 a month for management and a $750 one-time setup. Below about $3,300 a month in total, an electrician is usually better served by Local Services Ads alone at first.

What does Blue Grid Media charge electricians?

$795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500 to $10,000, $995 a month with Local Services Ads added, and 10 percent of spend above $10,000. Setup is $750 one time and includes a landing page for each campaign. Month to month with no contract.

Do you provide exclusive electrician leads in California, Texas, Florida, New York and Illinois?

Yes. Each state has its own page with its demand and licensing rules. Blue Grid Media runs Google Ads for electricians in Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Tampa, Miami, New York and Chicago, among about 50 US metros, with every lead exclusive because the account is in the owner's name, for $795 a month on ad budgets from $2,500.

How many electrical accounts has Blue Grid Media managed?

Our team has managed 20+ electrical accounts across its career. We do not publish an electrician case study yet.
