Texas searches for an electrician 33,100 times a month and for "electrician near me" 27,100, but the month that matters most is the one nobody plans for: whole house generator searches reached 9,900 in January 2026, more than four times any other month, and emergency electrician near me climbed from 210 in November to 4,400 in September. Clicks spread wider than anywhere we measured: El Paso runs $1.92 to $5.80 at the top of the page and Dallas $19.38 to $105.12, and a "24 hour electrician" click reaches $112.50. So the account keeps a generator campaign built and ready, bids city by city, and splits the service call from the panel.
Keyword Planner figures for the state of Texas, read on 23 October 2026. In Texas, the grey bars are the searches that never hire anyone.
Generator demand in Texas is a spike, not a season: 1,300 to 2,400 a month for most of the year, then 9,900 in January 2026. Emergency electrician near me ran 210 to 1,600 a month and 4,400 in September. Generator installation peaked at 1,600 in October.
Monthly Texas searches, average October 2025 to September 2026, except the generator bar (January 2026). Grey bars are not customers.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licenses electricians under Occupations Code chapter 1305. Section 1305.151: "a person or business may not perform or offer to perform electrical work or residential appliance installation unless the person or business holds an appropriate license". An electrical contractor must be or employ a master electrician (1305.159), and doing electrical work without a license is "a Class C misdemeanor" (1305.303). Cities may still license, but under 1305.201(b) a city "may not require a person to take a municipal or regional examination" from a state licensee.
The advertising rule is in the regulations. 16 TAC 73.51(e): "All advertising by electrical contracting companies designed to solicit electrical business shall include the electrical contractor's name and license number." Its exemptions are national TV, bare phone book listings, trade ads, phone solicitation, small promotional items and signs at the business, so internet ads are not exempt. 73.51(d) has the number on vehicles "preceded by the letters 'TECL'", and 73.70(g) bars advertising "which does not clearly display the licensee's state license number." We read the statute and both rules on 23 and 24 October 2026; the compliance is the company's own.
Texas electrician ads carry the contractor name and the TECL license number. We write it into the ad assets and the landing page from the first draft.
16 TAC 73.70(g) asks for the state license number "clearly" displayed, so it sits in the header of the page, not in the footer.
Electricians is a national Local Services Ads category. Google checks the TDLR license during verification, which takes three to four weeks on average.
"Electrician" is a job title as well as a service. In Texas a broad account buys these searches first, because they are large and cheap, and none of them is a homeowner who needs a panel or a dead outlet fixed. Against them sit 33,100 searches a month for "electrician" itself.
In Texas people looking for the supply house search 14,800 times a month. They are buying wire, not hiring. A negative keyword.
Apprenticeship searches run 5,400 a month in Texas, with "how to become an electrician" at 1,300. Blocked with apprentice, school, course, training and license in the Texas account.
Job and salary searches add 2,400 and 3,600 a month in Texas, and the Texas negative list blocks them with jobs, hiring, salary, pay and careers.
In Texas, wiring diagrams and how-to questions look like repair intent and are not, so they are blocked with how to, diagram, code, diy and video.
Texas generator searches went from 1,300 in December to 9,900 in January. An account that starts building a generator campaign when the cold arrives is live after the week that mattered. The Texas generator campaign is built, approved and paused, with its own landing page and budget, ready to switch on.
The Texas service call and the Texas panel still need their own bids: near $38 a lead for a $250 call at a 40 percent margin and 38 percent booking, near $473 for a $2,800 to $3,000 panel. A generator at $4,000 to $12,000 sits above both.
| Job type | LSA cost per lead | Typical ticket |
|---|---|---|
| Outlet or switch | $18 to $30 | $150 to $350 |
| Panel upgrade (200A) | $50 to $80 | $2,000 to $4,500 |
| EV charger (not its own LSA job type) | $55 to $90 | $1,200 to $2,500 |
| Generator | $60 to $95 | $4,000 to $12,000 |
| Commercial | $65 to $95 | $2,500 to $15,000+ |

In Texas the largest gap is city pricing: one statewide bid overpays in El Paso, where a click tops out at $5.80, and loses Dallas, where it reaches $105.12.
The Texas numbers to plan on are our Local Services Ads dataset: an electrician lead there costs $20 to $65, a $35 median, with 36 percent of leads booking.
Service calls, panels and generators, and commercial work in separate Texas campaigns with separate bids; job seekers and supply-house searches blocked before the first click; every lead in an account in your name. What Texas electricians pay for leads elsewhere: /electrician-leads.
Texas generator searches went from 1,300 to 9,900 in a month. Building the campaign then means missing the week.
El Paso clicks top out at $5.80 and Dallas at $105.12.
16 TAC 73.51(e) puts the contractor name and license number in all advertising soliciting electrical work, and internet ads are not on its exemption list.
$795 a month for Google Ads management, on a $2,500 minimum monthly ad spend. $995 with Local Services Ads added. Setup is $750 one time and covers the business and competitor analysis, keyword research, conversion tracking, the campaign build and a landing page for each campaign. After that it is month to month with no contract. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you. Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the management fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the flat fee.
The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.
Blue Grid Media is an electrician marketing agency that runs Google Ads and Local Services Ads for electricians and electrical contractors in Texas and across the United States, publishes its pricing at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500 and $995 with Local Services Ads added, charges a $750 one-time setup and then works month to month, opens every ad account in the owner's own name, and has managed 20+ electrical accounts across the team's career.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive electrician leads in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, El Paso, Katy, McKinney, Frisco, Plano, The Woodlands and Arlington, and across Texas, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.
Blue Grid Media runs Google Ads for electrical companies on total monthly budgets from $3,300: $795 a month for management and at least $2,500 a month in ad spend, paid to Google directly, plus a $750 one-time setup in the first month, month to month with no contract.
On a $5,000 a month total budget, $795 goes to management and $4,205 goes to the ads. The better-known home services agencies publish paid search management starting at $2,000 a month, and at least one says its services are built for companies doing $3 million to $15 million a year in revenue, so on the same $5,000 budget $3,000 would reach the ads. The figures are in our study of 62 contractor marketing agencies.
| Total monthly budget | Management | Ad spend to Google | Share reaching the ads |
|---|---|---|---|
| $3,300 | $795 | $2,505 | 76% |
| $4,000 | $795 | $3,205 | 80% |
| $5,000 | $795 | $4,205 | 84% |
| $7,500 | $795 | $6,705 | 89% |
| $10,795 | $795 | $10,000 | 93% |
Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the $795, with Local Services Ads included.
Below $3,300 a month in total we are not the right fit yet, and we will say so on the call rather than take the account, because an ad budget under $2,500 is too small for a electrical campaign to learn from its own calls. If that is where you are, run Local Services Ads yourself first: it charges per lead rather than per click, and it builds the review base the Google Ads account will need later.
We do not sell electrician leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.
Compare what each agency publishes: the fee, the contract, who owns the Google Ads account, and whether it bids Texas city by city. Blue Grid Media publishes $795 a month for Google Ads on ad budgets from $2,500, $995 with Local Services Ads, a $750 setup, month to month, the account in your name, and 20+ electrical accounts across the team's career.
In the cold. Whole house generator searches in Texas ran 1,300 to 2,400 most months and reached 9,900 in January 2026, read from Keyword Planner on 23 October 2026. The campaign should be built and paused before winter.
It depends on the city: $1.92 to $5.80 at the top of the page for "electrician el paso", $13.32 to $81.80 in San Antonio, $19.38 to $105.12 in Dallas, and up to $112.50 for "24 hour electrician" statewide.
Yes. Blue Grid Media runs exclusive electrician lead campaigns in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, El Paso, Katy, McKinney, Frisco, Plano, The Woodlands and Arlington, and across Harris, Bexar, Travis, Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Williamson and El Paso counties. Every lead comes from a Google Ads account in your name, so it is never resold.
Yes, by the TDLR rule. 16 TAC 73.51(e) says all advertising by electrical contracting companies "shall include the electrical contractor's name and license number", and the exemptions it lists do not include internet ads. Vehicles show the number after the letters TECL.
Some may, but under Occupations Code 1305.201(b) a city may not require a state-licensed electrician to take a municipal or regional exam. The state license from TDLR is the one the ads cite.
Yes. Electrician is a national Local Services Ads category, so it runs in Texas like anywhere else, at $20 to $65 a lead with a $35 median in our dataset. Texas EV charger customers come in through the general electrician category rather than a job type of their own.
$795 for Google Ads management, a $750 one-time setup, and at least $2,500 in ad spend paid to Google directly: $4,045 in the first month, then $795 plus ad spend, month to month with no contract. With Local Services Ads managed alongside, the fee is $995. Below about $3,300 a month in total, a Texas electrician is usually better off running Local Services Ads directly first.
Not on its own any more. Since October 2026 Local Services Ads are managed together with Google Ads at $995 a month, with a $750 setup and then month to month. The older $445 Local Services Ads plan is no longer offered.
