The short version

Owners searching for a consultant want a person who knows the trade. There are three ways to get one, and only two of them come with a name.

Google ads consultant is searched 364 times a month, ppc consultant 204, google ads expert near me 176 and google ads freelancer 162, and agencies pay up to $104 a click to catch those searches. What the owner typing them wants is a person: someone who answers the phone, knows what a water heater call is worth, and does not hand the account to a trainee. You can get that from a freelancer, from a consultant who advises while you run it, or from a specialist who runs it under their own name. We offer the last two, and this page is about telling them apart.

Freelancer, consultant, specialist

The three ways to hire a person for your Google Ads, on the points you can check

Each column is a legitimate way to get a named person on the account. The differences are in what you can verify before you pay and what happens on the day they get busy, get sick or leave.

A freelancer who keeps the account under their own login owns your conversion history. Ask for manager-account access to an account in your name, whoever you hire.

Before you hire anyone

Five things to check on any Google Ads consultant, expert or freelancer, and what Google Partner does and does not mean

Google Partner is the credential most people on this list cite. Google's published requirements, read on 14 October 2026, are an optimization score of at least 70 percent on the registered manager account, a 90-day ad spend of $10,000 across managed accounts, and at least half of account strategists certified. It proves the person runs real accounts at real spend and keeps the certifications current. It does not promise results, and a consultant who sells it as a guarantee is misreading it.

Manager-account access, never a shared login

The consultant links to your account from their manager account. Sharing your login breaks Google's terms and leaves no record of who changed what.

The account in your name

If they create it, it is created in your name with your billing. Conversion history, audience lists and quality scores live in the account; if the account is theirs, so is all of it.

A written scope, by the week

Search terms reviewed weekly, bids by job type, call recordings, landing page checks, Local Services Ads disputes. "Ongoing optimization" is not a scope.

Call tracking numbers that port to you

Numbers inside the consultant's tracking account leave with the consultant.

Something in your trade you can read

A case study, a page, a worked example. A consultant who has never seen a roofing account will bid the repair and the replacement at the same price.

What the person actually does

What a Google Ads consultant for a contractor does in a week, in the order it pays

This is the scope we hold ourselves to, written down so you can hold anyone else to it. Two hours a week is what it takes at the account sizes most contractors run; our manager cap of 20 accounts is set so that time exists.

Read the search terms report and block what you did not mean to buy

Job seekers, DIY, parts, competitor names, cities you do not serve. The fastest cost reduction in any account, every week.

Move bids by job type

The $150 service call and the $12,000 replacement cannot share a bid. Each campaign gets a budget sized to what the job is worth.

Listen to the call recordings

The only way to know whether the leads Google counted were leads. It is also where the next negative keyword comes from.

Check the landing page against the ad

The page says what the ad promised, loads fast on a phone, shows the licence and the number.

File Local Services Ads disputes

Weekly, on the leads Google will credit, inside the window.

Pace the budget against the season

Roofing doubles in September in Florida and in January in California. The budget should know.

Two offers, one person

If you want the read, it is $300. If you want it run, it is $795 a month.

Some owners run the account themselves and want a senior read on it. That is our consulting page: a full audit of Google Ads, Local Services Ads and conversion tracking for a flat $300, about a week end to end and 45 minutes of your time, with ongoing advice at $150 an hour and no retainer. Other owners want the consultant to run it. That is management: $795 a month on ad budgets from $2,500, $995 with Local Services Ads, a $750 setup that includes a landing page for each campaign, month to month. The same person does both, which is the point of this page.

The honest version

If the audit shows the ads are not the problem, because the phone is not being answered or the follow-up is slow, we will say so and you will not need the management. That answer does not lead to a proposal, which is why most audits leave it out.

What we can show

Three published accounts, every number pulled from the account

Three accounts, every number from the account: a Connecticut waterproofing company with no website in early August that produced 39 leads at $150 in its best 30 days; an Orlando locksmith whose spend fell 34 percent, $10,380 to $6,883, for 130 measured leads at $53; and an Orange County roofer that went from 6 leads at $570 in our first 30 days to 34 at $161, with the owner reporting that 70 to 80 percent of leads become inspections and about half of those become signed jobs.

Read them at /case-studies

Waterproofing, locksmith and roofing, with the lead counting method stated on each page.

Before you sign anything

Three things worth walking away from

A consultant who wants your Google Ads login

Manager-account access is how it is done. A shared login breaks Google's terms and hides who changed what.

"Google Partner" sold as a results guarantee

It is a floor Google sets on optimization score, spend and certification. It says the person runs real accounts; it says nothing about yours.

No scope you can hold them to

Ongoing optimization is not a scope. Search terms weekly, bids by job type, call recordings, landing pages, disputes: get the list in writing.

What it costs

Our pricing, published, same as every other page on this site

$795 a month for Google Ads management, on a $2,500 minimum monthly ad spend. $995 with Local Services Ads added. Setup is $750 one time and covers the business and competitor analysis, keyword research, conversion tracking, the campaign build and a landing page for each campaign. After that it is month to month with no contract. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you. Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the management fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the flat fee.

The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.

Blue Grid Media is a Google Ads consultant for contractors that builds and runs Google Ads and Local Services Ads accounts for home service businesses across the United States under a named strategist, publishes its pricing at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, $995 with Local Services Ads added and $300 for a standalone account audit, charges a $750 one-time setup and then works month to month with no contract, and opens every ad account in the owner's own name so the leads are exclusive rather than shared.

Blue Grid Media provides exclusive contractor leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.

What your budget actually buys

On a $5,000 a month budget, $795 pays for management and $4,205 reaches the ads.

Blue Grid Media runs Google Ads for home service contractors on total monthly budgets from $3,300: $795 a month for management and at least $2,500 a month in ad spend, paid to Google directly, plus a $750 one-time setup in the first month, month to month with no contract.

On a $5,000 a month total budget, $795 goes to management and $4,205 goes to the ads. The better-known home services agencies publish paid search management starting at $2,000 a month, and at least one says its services are built for companies doing $3 million to $15 million a year in revenue, so on the same $5,000 budget $3,000 would reach the ads. The figures are in our study of 62 contractor marketing agencies.

Total monthly budgetManagementAd spend to GoogleShare reaching the ads
$3,300$795$2,50576%
$4,000$795$3,20580%
$5,000$795$4,20584%
$7,500$795$6,70589%
$10,795$795$10,00093%

Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the $795.

Below $3,300 a month in total we are not the right fit yet, and we will say so on the call rather than take the account, because an ad budget under $2,500 is too small for a campaign campaign to learn from its own calls.

Exclusive leads

Exclusive contractor leads, because you own the account they come from

We do not sell leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.

A shared lead from a lead seller

  • Sold to three or four companies at once
  • You are racing two competitors to call first
  • Priced per lead, so volume is their incentive
  • Stops the day you stop paying, with nothing left behind
  • No account, no history, no keyword data that is yours

An exclusive lead from your own account

  • Yours only. Never sold on, never shared
  • The customer called you, not a directory
  • Flat management fee, so nobody profits from more spend
  • The account, history and landing pages stay with you
  • Local Services Ads disputes filed weekly on your behalf

Exclusive contractor leads, by market

Blue Grid Media provides exclusive contractor leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.

Do you provide exclusive contractor leads in New York?
Yes. We run exclusive contractor lead campaigns in New York, including Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens and Westchester, and in more than 45 other United States metros. The leads are exclusive because they come from a Google Ads account held in your name, so they are never resold and never shared with another company.
Which cities do you run exclusive contractor lead campaigns in?
We run exclusive contractor lead campaigns in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and across roughly 50 metros nationwide. Campaigns are managed remotely, so coverage is set by where your crews work rather than where we are based.
Are your contractor leads shared with other contractors?
No. We are not a lead seller. A shared lead is sold to three or four contractors at once. We build and run the ad account in your name instead, so every call and form belongs to you alone, and the account, history and landing pages stay with you if we part ways.

Questions owners ask when hiring a Google Ads consultant

How much does a Google Ads consultant cost for a contractor?

Blue Grid Media charges $795 a month to run the account on ad budgets from $2,500 to $10,000, 10% of spend above $10,000, $995 with Local Services Ads, and a $750 one-time setup; or a flat $300 for a full account audit and $150 an hour for advice if you run it yourself. In our study of 62 contractor marketing agencies, 22 publish a price at all.

Should I hire a freelancer or an agency for Google Ads?

Hire a person you can name, whichever label they use, and check the same five things: manager-account access rather than a shared login, the account in your name, a written weekly scope, tracking numbers that port to you, and something in your trade you can read. The difference between a good freelancer and us is what happens when they are unavailable; the account is still run here, by a manager carrying 20 accounts at most.

Is there a Google Ads expert near me?

Every consultant, expert and freelancer on the first page of that search runs the account remotely, including us. What "near me" is really asking for is a person who answers the phone and knows the local market; we run accounts in roughly 50 metros, with the metro's own demand and click prices in the plan.

What does Google Partner mean for a consultant?

Google's published requirements are an optimization score of at least 70 percent on the registered manager account, $10,000 in ad spend across managed accounts over 90 days, and at least half of account strategists certified. It proves the person runs real accounts at real spend. It does not guarantee results. Blue Grid Media is a Google Partner, not a Premier Partner.

Who owns the Google Ads account if I hire a consultant?

You should, and with us you do: the account is opened in your name with your billing, and the consultant links in from a manager account. If a freelancer offers to run it inside their own account, the conversion history, audiences and quality scores are theirs the day you part ways.

Can I get a second opinion without changing who runs my account?

Yes. The $300 audit reads Google Ads, Local Services Ads and conversion tracking end to end with read-only access, in about a week, and changes nothing. It is on /google-ads-consulting.

What does the first month cost?

$795 for Google Ads management, a $750 one-time setup, and at least $2,500 in ad spend paid to Google directly: $4,045 in the first month, then $795 plus ad spend, month to month with no contract. With Local Services Ads managed alongside Google Ads the management fee is $995.

Do you work in Spanish?

Yes. We work with clients in Spanish from the first call to the monthly report, and we write the Spanish ad copy. Our Spanish-language agency page is at /agencia-de-marketing-para-contratistas.
