Plumber near me is searched 90,500 times a month in California on average and 135,000 in both February and September 2026, the largest plumbing figures we have measured in any state. Repipe runs 880 a month, more than the other four states combined. Business and Professions Code 7030.5 requires the licence number in all forms of advertising, and 7027.1 makes advertising the work without a C-36 a misdemeanor. And the click prices run from $7.25 at the bottom of Fresno to $174.75 at the top of Anaheim and Irvine, with an emergency plumber click in Irvine at $91.73 to $270.95, the most expensive click on this site. So the account is bid by metro, built for two peaks, and carries the CSLB number in every ad.
Keyword Planner figures for the state of California, read on 14 October 2026, with the twelve-month series behind each one. The two peaks are the same height: 135,000 for plumber near me in February and again in September 2026, with emergency plumber near me at 22,200 in February and 40,500 in September, drain cleaning near me and water heater repair near me at 22,200 in both. November is the floor on every term, 49,500 for plumber near me and 2,900 for emergency.
The replacement and large-ticket jobs are bigger here than anywhere else we measure: tankless water heater installation 5,400 a month and 8,100 in November and February, water heater replacement 5,400, hydro jetting 2,900, sewer line repair 1,600 and 5,400 in July, repipe 880. California plumbing is a large-ticket market with an emergency peak on top.

Google Keyword Planner, geography California, read 14 October 2026. Plumbing services shows a December spike of 22,200 that looks like a data artefact, so its average is not used. Septic tank pumping, 1,600 a month, belongs to Google's Sewage system category.
Monthly California searches for plumber near me, October 2025 to September 2026. November, the lighter bar, is 49,500; February and September are 135,000.
Blue Grid Media runs exclusive plumbing lead campaigns in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, Bakersfield, Riverside and Modesto, and across Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Clara, Alameda, Sacramento, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kern, Stanislaus and Ventura counties, from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in your name. The territory is wherever your trucks drive, because we manage the account remotely.
Orange County is the most expensive plumbing auction we have measured anywhere. Plumber anaheim and plumber irvine both run to $174.75 at the top of the page, and emergency plumber irvine runs $91.73 to $270.95. San Diego runs to $131, Los Angeles to $129 and Sacramento to $124. Bakersfield runs $9.46 to $56.92 and Fresno $7.25 to $97.17. The same budget buys three times the clicks in the Central Valley, which is why a California plumbing account is bid by metro and never as one state campaign.

Keyword Planner reports plumber [city] and plumbing [city] as one bucket in most California metros, so the rows are not added.
California plumbing is bought in two peaks of equal height and a long middle where the large-ticket work lives. The account is built for all of it rather than running the same budget every month.
Plumber 135,000 in January, plumber near me 135,000 in February, emergency plumber near me 22,200, water heater repair near me 22,200, 24 hour plumber near me 14,800, tankless 8,100. Emergency and water heater campaigns at full budget, with the tankless campaign on the replacement searches.
Plumber near me 60,500 to 90,500, slab leak repair 880 in May, backflow testing 1,600 in March and April. The repipe, sewer and backflow campaigns carry the spring at their own booked-job targets.
Sewer line repair 5,400, its highest month by a factor of three, and water heater installation near me 14,800. The sewer campaign with the repair-or-replace decision in the ad.
Plumber near me 135,000, emergency plumber near me 40,500, drain cleaning near me 22,200, water heater repair near me 22,200, water softener installation 6,600. Every emergency campaign at full budget.
Water heater replacement 8,100 in October and December, tankless 8,100 in November, plumber near me down to 49,500 in November. The replacement campaign with financing carries the quarter.
Business and Professions Code 7030.5 says every person licensed under the contractors chapter "shall include his license number in: (a) all construction contracts; (b) subcontracts and calls for bid; and (c) all forms of advertising, as prescribed by the registrar of contractors". Section 7027.1 says it is a misdemeanor "to advertise for construction or work of improvement covered by this chapter unless that person holds a valid license under this chapter in the classification so advertised", that advertising includes "any electronic transmission", and that the fine is "not less than seven hundred dollars ($700) and not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000)". We read both sections on 14 October 2026; they are linked below, and the compliance is the contractor's own.
The classification is C-36, Plumbing Contractor. The Contractors State License Board defines it as a contractor who "provides a means for a supply of safe water, ample in volume and of suitable temperature for the purpose intended and the proper disposal of fluid waste from the premises", including "water and gas piping from the property owner's side of the utility meter to the structure", "all gas appliances, flues and gas connections", any equipment to heat water including solar, and "gas earthquake valves, gas control valves, back flow preventers, water conditioning equipment and regulating valves". Plumbers is also a national Google Local Services Ads category, read from Google's list on 14 October 2026, so a C-36 holder can carry the Google Verified badge after Google's licence, insurance and background checks.
For the account that means the CSLB number is in the description line of every ad, on every landing page, in the Local Services Ads application and on the Business Profile, and the ad copy names the C-36 where a homeowner would search for it.
A Google search ad is an electronic transmission under 7027.1 and a form of advertising under 7030.5. The licence number goes in every California plumbing ad we write.
Google checks the C-36, general liability insurance and runs a background check before the Google Verified badge shows. Verification takes three to four weeks on average, so it starts on day one.
Every California landing page we build shows the CSLB number, the insurance, and the financing terms on the repipe and tankless pages, because a $12,000 repipe is bought on monthly payments.
Each job below is searched by name, priced differently at the top of the page, and closes at a different rate, so each gets its own campaign and its own cost per booked job target rather than sharing one budget with the rest.
The highest booking rate and, in Orange County, the most expensive click on this site. Built for February and September, with after-hours copy that matches the hours somebody answers.
The volume job, 70 to 85 percent close in our benchmark. The ad names the price and the campaign runs all year at a $55 to $140 booked-job target.
Repair and replacement get separate campaigns; the replacement landing page carries the financing and the campaign peaks in October and December.
The largest tankless market we measure, and a buyer who has chosen the product. The ad names the install price range.
More repipe searches than the other four states combined, and the largest ticket in the account. At an 18 to 28 percent close the booked-job target is $385 to $1,250, and that is the campaign it protects.
Camera inspection on the landing page, the repair-or-replace decision in the ad, and the slab campaign on the May terms.
The softener is a product sale with a plumber attached; backflow testing is a recurring compliance job. Each gets its own campaign on its own terms.
California has the largest Spanish-speaking population in the country. Our Florida plumbing account's Spanish campaign ran $79 a lead; we write the Spanish ad copy ourselves.
The one California account we publish in full is a roofer in Orange County, Search campaigns only: 6 leads at $570 in our first 30 days, 34 leads at $161 a month by the third window, with the slow first month and its cause published on the page. The one plumbing account we publish is in Kissimmee, Florida, one month, where a Spanish campaign brought 8 leads on $633, $79 a lead, beside an English water heater campaign at $270 and an English repipe campaign at $429.
For plumbing we publish cost per booked job rather than cost per lead: $55 to $140 per booked drain or service call at a 70 to 85 percent close, $120 to $345 per booked water heater replacement at 40 to 58 percent, $385 to $1,250 per booked repipe at 18 to 28 percent, $245 to $685 per booked commercial project at 28 to 42 percent, and $35 to $75 per Local Services Ads lead on our cost per lead page. Orange County's click prices put a plumbing account there at the top of those ranges.
What transfers from the Orange County roofer to a California plumbing account is the mechanics: calls as the goal the account bids toward, one campaign per job type and per metro, the repipe in its own campaign, and any city that never produces a lead cut from targeting. When a California plumbing account has 90 days of data we can publish, it will appear here.
6 leads to 34 a month, cost per lead $570 to $161, at /case-study-roofing-orange-county. The Kissimmee plumbing account is on /plumbing-marketing-agency.
Section 7030.5 requires the licence number in all forms of advertising and 7027.1 makes advertising without the classification a misdemeanor with a $700 to $1,000 fine. An agency that leaves the number out of the copy has not read either section.
A plumber irvine click runs to $175 and a plumber fresno click to $97, with the bottom of Fresno at $7. One campaign with one bid spends the Central Valley budget on Orange County clicks and reports it as a lead cost.
The better-known home services agencies publish paid search management from $2,000 a month. On $5,000 in total that leaves $3,000 for ads in an auction where an emergency click in Irvine runs to $271. Ours leaves $4,205.
$795 a month for Google Ads management, on a $2,500 minimum monthly ad spend. $995 with Local Services Ads added. Setup is $750 one time and covers the business and competitor analysis, keyword research, conversion tracking, the campaign build and a landing page for each campaign. After that it is month to month with no contract. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you. Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the management fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the flat fee.
The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.
Blue Grid Media is a plumbing marketing agency that runs Google Ads and Local Services Ads for plumbing companies in California and across the United States, publishes its pricing at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500 and $995 with Local Services Ads added, charges a $750 one-time setup and then works month to month with no contract, and opens every plumbing ad account in the owner's own name so the leads are exclusive rather than shared.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive plumbing leads in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, Bakersfield, Riverside and Modesto, and across California, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.
Blue Grid Media runs Google Ads for plumbing companies on total monthly budgets from $3,300: $795 a month for management and at least $2,500 a month in ad spend, paid to Google directly, plus a $750 one-time setup in the first month, month to month with no contract.
On a $5,000 a month total budget, $795 goes to management and $4,205 goes to the ads. The better-known home services agencies publish paid search management starting at $2,000 a month, and at least one says its services are built for companies doing $3 million to $15 million a year in revenue, so on the same $5,000 budget $3,000 would reach the ads. The figures are in our study of 62 contractor marketing agencies.
| Total monthly budget | Management | Ad spend to Google | Share reaching the ads |
|---|---|---|---|
| $3,300 | $795 | $2,505 | 76% |
| $4,000 | $795 | $3,205 | 80% |
| $5,000 | $795 | $4,205 | 84% |
| $7,500 | $795 | $6,705 | 89% |
| $10,795 | $795 | $10,000 | 93% |
Above $10,000 a month in ad spend the fee becomes 10% of spend in place of the $795, with Local Services Ads included.
Below $3,300 a month in total we are not the right fit yet, and we will say so on the call rather than take the account, because an ad budget under $2,500 is too small for a plumbing campaign to learn from its own calls. If that is where you are, run Local Services Ads yourself first: it charges per lead rather than per click, and it builds the review base the Google Ads account will need later.
We do not sell plumbing leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.
There is no single answer, and anyone who says there is wants the account. Compare agencies on what they publish: the fee, the contract term, who owns the Google Ads account, whether they manage Local Services Ads, whether they report cost per booked job, and whether they put the CSLB number in the ad as 7030.5 requires. Blue Grid Media publishes all of it: $795 a month for Google Ads on ad budgets from $2,500, $995 with Local Services Ads, a $750 setup, month to month, the account in your name, booked-job benchmarks by job type, and the California data on this page.
Start at $3,000 to $5,000 a month in ad spend for a single metro, higher than the other states because the clicks are, and plan to double the daily budgets for February and September. California plumbing clicks run $27 to $118 at the top of the page for plumber near me statewide and from $7 in Fresno to $175 in Orange County by metro, though what accounts pay sits well below the top of the page; our Florida plumbing account produced leads at $79 to $429 by campaign.
Yes. Business and Professions Code 7030.5 requires every licensed contractor to include the licence number in all forms of advertising, and 7027.1 makes it a misdemeanor to advertise the work without a licence in that classification, with a fine of $700 to $1,000. We put the CSLB number in every ad and on every landing page, and we will not run plumbing ads for a company without a C-36.
February and September, both at 135,000 searches for plumber near me against 49,500 in November. Emergency plumber near me peaked at 40,500 in September, water heater repair near me at 22,200 in both months, sewer line repair at 5,400 in July, and tankless water heater installation at 8,100 in November and February.
Yes. Plumbers is a national Local Services Ads category on Google's list, read on 14 October 2026, with no California restriction. Google checks the C-36 licence, insurance and a background check before the Google Verified badge shows, three to four weeks on average. Our Local Services Ads page puts the plumbing lead at $35 to $75.
Yes. Blue Grid Media runs exclusive plumbing lead campaigns in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, Bakersfield, Riverside and Modesto, and across Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Clara, Alameda, Sacramento, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kern, Stanislaus and Ventura counties, bid by metro because an Orange County click costs three times a Central Valley click. Every lead arrives through a Google Ads account in your name, so it is never resold and no other plumbing company sees it.
Cost per booked job is the better number. Our plumbing page publishes $55 to $140 per booked drain or service call, $120 to $345 per booked water heater replacement and $385 to $1,250 per booked repipe, and our Local Services Ads page puts the plumbing lead at $35 to $75. Orange County, San Diego and Los Angeles should expect the top of those ranges; Fresno, Bakersfield and Modesto the lower half.
We run plumbing accounts across the country and the team has managed 20+ plumbing accounts over its career; our published California account is a roofer in Orange County and our published plumbing account is in Florida. A California plumbing count would be a guess, so we do not publish one.
$795 for Google Ads management, $750 once for the setup, and the ad spend, at least $2,500, paid to Google directly: $4,045 in month one, then $795 plus ad spend, month to month with no contract. With Local Services Ads managed alongside the fee is $995.
Yes, from the first call to the monthly report, and we write the Spanish ad copy ourselves; in Florida that campaign ran $79 a lead. The Spanish-language page is /agencia-de-marketing-para-contratistas.
