Pool builders and contractors

The cleaner sells a visit. The builder sells a consultation.

A pool build is one of the longest decisions in home services. It is made over months, by appointment, usually before the season the homeowner wants to swim in. Google draws the line the same way a builder does: Pool contractor and Pool cleaner are separate Local Services Ads categories. Our pool service page is built for the cleaner. This page is for the company that digs the hole, and its account is measured on design consultations.

What pool builders tell us when they send the account over

Pool builders sell a six-figure decision in many markets and are often judged by an agency as if they sold a weekly service. These are the four things owners say about that.

I got verified in Local Services Ads and all the leads were people wanting their pool cleaned.

The account was verified as Pool cleaner. Google lists Pool contractor separately, and a builder in the cleaner category is in the service auction and invisible to the homeowner who typed pool builder. Ask which category the account sits in.

The agency turned the ads on in June and said the leads would come with the heat.

The season is sold in the months before it. The homeowner who books a design consultation in January swims in July. The one who searches in June is usually a year away. An account switched on with the weather is filling next year's calendar.

The report said 60 leads. We signed four pools. Nobody could tell me what the other 56 were.

Most were pool ideas, backyard designs, above-ground kits and cost calculators, which click all day and book next year. And the account counted calls instead of consultations. Two conversions in sequence, the consultation held and the contract signed, tell you what the 60 were worth.

A family came to the consultation and left when they heard the number. They had never seen a monthly figure.

Financing belongs on the page before the visit, not in the room. A consultation books more often, and ends better, when the homeowner has already seen how the number works.

Two categories

Pool contractor is its own category, and most builders sit in the wrong one

Google's US Local Services Ads list carries Pool contractor and Pool cleaner as two separate national categories. We read it on 4 October 2026. A builder verified as a cleaner is in the auction for weekly service calls, and invisible to the homeowner who typed pool builder. The two searches are made by different people on different timelines. The account should know which it is in.

Our pool service page is built for the cleaner, with route density and the one-time-to-recurring conversion. This page is the builder: a six-figure decision in many markets, a consultation as the conversion, and a season that is sold before it opens.

Two categories, two campaigns, two budgets, because the service click costs less and the build consultation is worth many times more.

What the account is measured on

The consultation is the conversion, and the season is sold in winter

A pool is wanted for the summer and decided in the months before it. The homeowner who books a design consultation in January swims in July. The one who searches in June is often a year away. So the campaign runs hardest before the season. The conversion is the consultation on the calendar, and the signed contract is imported against the click months later.

We do not publish a pool build ticket, a close rate or a cost per lead, because none is published for the trade in a form we can verify and our dataset does not track it. Your own consultation-to-contract rate replaces the missing figure in the first month.

The channels, side by side

Where a pool builder can buy consultations, and what each channel really sells

No pool build cost per lead or ticket is published anywhere we trust, so there is no dollar figure in this table. There is the thing that decides the year: which category, which buyer, and which month.

What we checked

What this page does and does not claim

Google's US Local Services Ads list, read 4 October 2026, carries Pool contractor and Pool cleaner as separate national categories; the seven restricted to California and Florida are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. No pool build cost per lead, ticket or close rate is published on this page, because none exists for the trade in our dataset and we will not borrow one from pool service. The keyword figures below are Keyword Planner's.

If you also do fencing or hardscape

Pool fencing is sold by many builders and required in many markets; our fencing page covers that search. Decking and hardscape are covered on our landscaping page. A builder runs both as lines inside the pool account.

Campaign structure

The eight pool lines, and which category each sits in

A new in-ground pool, a renovation and an equipment replacement are different buyers on different cycles, and Google lists the builder and the cleaner as two separate categories. Each line below gets its own campaign, page and conversion.

New in-ground pool construction

The core job and the longest consultation cycle in home services after a custom home. Pool contractor category.

Pool renovation and resurfacing

An existing pool with a failing finish. Searched by the problem, decided faster than a new build.

Spas and hot tubs

Often bought with the pool, sometimes alone, and searched with their own words.

Decking, coping and hardscape

Our landscaping page owns hardscape. A pool builder runs it as a line inside the pool account.

Equipment replacement

Pumps, heaters, filters, automation. Searched by the part by owners of existing pools.

Pool fencing and safety

Required in many markets, searched by parents, and often sold by the fence company. Our fencing page covers that side.

Commercial and community pools

HOAs, hotels, developers on bids. A separate campaign if you want it.

Pool cleaning and service

Google lists Pool cleaner as its own category. Our pool service page is built for that company; a builder with a service arm links the two.

Before you sign anything

Three things worth walking away from

A builder verified only as a pool cleaner

You are in the service auction, not the builder auction. Ask the agency which category the account sits in.

A budget that starts when the weather does

The season is sold in the months before it. An account switched on in June is filling next year's calendar at this year's prices.

A report that counts leads

A pool build is a months-long decision. If the report cannot show consultations held and contracts signed, it is reporting the wrong number.

Pool contractor is a national Local Services Ads category

Google lists Pool contractor, listed separately from Pool cleaner among its US Local Services Ads categories, and it is not one of the seven restricted to California and Florida, which are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. Local Services Ads charge per lead rather than per click, sit above the map pack, and passing the checks carries the Google Verified badge. Read from Google's own category list on 4 October 2026.

What it costs

Our pricing, published, same as every other page on this site

$445 a month for Local Services Ads management. From $695 for Google Ads. $995 for both. No setup fee, no contract, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you and we never take a percentage of it. Custom landing pages for your campaigns are included at no charge.

The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.

Blue Grid Media is a pool builder marketing agency that runs Google Ads and Google Local Services Ads for swimming pool contractors and builders across the United States, publishes its pricing at $445 a month for Local Services Ads management, from $695 for Google Ads and $995 for both, works month to month with no contract and no setup fee, and opens every pool builder ad account in the builder's own name so the leads are exclusive rather than shared.

Blue Grid Media provides exclusive pool builder leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $445 a month for Local Services Ads management, from $695 for Google Ads and $995 for both, month to month with no contract and no setup fee.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked

Is pool building a Google Local Services Ads category?

Yes, nationally, and separately from pool cleaning. Google lists Pool contractor and Pool cleaner as two categories, and neither is restricted to California and Florida. We read the list on 4 October 2026. A builder belongs in the first.

What is the cost per lead for pool builders?

We do not publish one, because no credible figure exists for the trade and our dataset does not track it. The number that matters is cost per design consultation held, which is yours to produce in the first month, and we price the management flat.

When should a pool builder advertise?

In the months before the season, when homeowners who want to swim in summer book their consultations. A floor through the season on renovation and equipment searches keeps the account warm.

How do you measure a pool builder account?

On design consultations held, then on contracts signed, both sent back to Google against the click. A pool contract closes months after the first search, and an account judged on calls has no idea what it is buying.

Do you work with a builder that also services pools?

Yes, with the service line on our pool service page structure, its own category and its own campaign, inside the same account.

What does it cost?

We charge $445 a month for Local Services Ads management, from $695 for Google Ads and $995 for both. No setup fee, no contract, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google directly to you and we never take a percentage of it. Campaign landing pages are included.

Who owns the ad account?

You do. We open it in your name and it stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours.

Exclusive leads

Exclusive pool building leads, because you own the account they come from

We do not sell pool building leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.

A shared lead from a lead seller

 • Sold to three or four pool building companies at once
 • You are racing two competitors to call first
 • Priced per lead, so volume is their incentive
 • Stops the day you stop paying, with nothing left behind
 • No account, no history, no keyword data that is yours

An exclusive lead from your own account

 • Yours only. Never sold on, never shared
 • The homeowner called you, not a directory
 • Flat management fee, so nobody profits from more spend
 • The account, history and landing pages stay with you
 • Local Services Ads disputes filed weekly on your behalf

Exclusive pool building leads, by market

We provide exclusive pool building leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total. Campaigns are managed remotely, so the market is set by where your crews work rather than where we sit.

SoutheastExclusive pool building leads in Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Birmingham, Richmond

WestExclusive pool building leads in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City
Do you provide exclusive pool building leads in New York?
Yes. We run exclusive pool building lead campaigns in New York, including Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens, and in more than 45 other United States metros. The leads are exclusive because they come from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in your name, so they are never resold and never shared with another pool building company.
Which cities do you run exclusive pool building lead campaigns in?
We run exclusive pool building lead campaigns in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and across roughly 50 metros nationwide. Campaigns are managed remotely, so coverage is set by where your crews actually work rather than where we are based. Smaller and rural markets are covered too, and the auction there is usually cheaper than any major metro.
Are your pool building leads shared with other companies?
No. We are not a lead seller. A shared lead is sold to three or four pool building companies at once, which is why you end up racing competitors to call first. We build and run the ad account in your name instead, so every call and form belongs to you alone, and the account, history and landing pages stay with you if we ever part ways.

Not on the list does not mean not covered. We run pool building accounts nationwide across the United States, including smaller and rural markets where the auction is usually cheaper than any metro above.

Websites and landing pages

The page that books the design consultation

A pool buyer is months from a decision and comparing portfolios. A page with finished pools, the process, financing and a consultation form is what puts you on the shortlist.

Fast and mobile first

Most contractor searches happen on a phone, so the page is built to load fast there. Faster pages convert more of the clicks you have already paid for.

Call and form tracking wired in

Every call and form is connected to tracking from day one, so you can see which ads and which pages actually produce booked work rather than just traffic.

Local SEO and schema

On-page SEO and local schema markup so the site earns map and organic visibility over time instead of only working while the ads are switched on.

$497 one-timeWebsite on its own. Design, copy, mobile, forms and tracking. You own it and the domain.
$299 one-timeThe same build when we also run your Google Ads or Local Services Ads. One time, not monthly.
$10 /moHosting, updates and backups. That is the only recurring cost.
24hr to liveLive in 24 hours, no contract and no lock-in.
Landing pages stay free. Campaign landing pages are included with ad management at no design fee, the same as they always have been. The pricing above is for a full website build, which is a separate thing you may or may not need.
