The short version

The claim gets routed. The driver who searches is yours.

A cracked windshield is one of the few searches in the automotive trades made the same day the damage happens, and often from the driveway. Some of those drivers will call their insurer and be sent wherever the insurer's network sends them. The rest search, compare two shops, and book the one that can come to them today. Google lists Auto Glass Repair Service as a national Local Services Ads category for exactly that driver, and the account that works is built for them and measured on replacements booked.

Sound familiar?

What auto glass owners tell us on the first call

Auto glass is a trade where the big national name is in every auction and in every insurer's phone tree. Independents tend to describe the same four problems.

The driver calls the insurer first and the insurer sends them to the national chain.

That is the routed claim, and an ad will not change where the network sends it. What an ad does reach is the driver who searched before calling, who can then name your shop. Whether a driver may choose their own shop depends on their policy and their state, and we do not advise on either. The ad tells them to ask.

We bid on windshield replacement and paid for people looking up the price of the glass itself.

Parts searches, wiper blades, glass prices by make, DIY resin kits. They click and do not book. They go on the negative list before launch, and the campaign is built on replacement near me, mobile windshield replacement, and the make and model.

Mobile jobs forty miles out eat the margin, and the ad brought three of them last week.

The travel radius was never set. For a mobile shop the map decides the profit, the way a route does for a cleaner. The targeting is drawn around the real radius, and the ad states it.

We recalibrate the cameras after a replacement and nobody searching for glass knows what that is.

A few do, and they have been told by a dealer that they need it. ADAS recalibration gets its own ad for those drivers, and a line on the replacement page for everyone else, so the ticket is explained before the appointment rather than argued after it.

Two drivers

The routed claim and the searching driver are different customers

A glass claim is often handled through the insurer's network, and the network decides where the call goes unless the driver has a shop in mind. We do not publish what share of glass work moves that way, because no figure we can verify exists, and shop owners give very different answers.

The searching driver is the other customer. A chip from a truck on the highway, a side window after a break-in, a crack that spread overnight. They search with the words near me and mobile, they want it done today, and they decide on who answers and who can come. That is the market a search account can buy, and it is measured on appointments booked, not on calls.

The routed claimWon in the phone tree

The arithmetic

Automotive repair has one of the cheapest leads in any industry, and auto glass sits inside it

LocaliQ and WordStream's 2026 search benchmarks put Automotive Repair, Service and Parts at $29.96 a lead on a 15.51 percent conversion rate and a $4.35 click, against an all-industry average of $66.69. There is no auto glass line in that report, so the figure is the category's, not the trade's, and your own account will differ.

What it says is that the driver who searches converts, because the need is immediate. The account's job is to be the shop that answers, to say mobile and today in the ad, and to keep the parts shoppers out of the budget.

The channels, side by side

Where auto glass work comes from, and which of it an ad can reach

The one lead figure is the LocaliQ automotive category average. The rest is how the work actually arrives at an independent shop.

What we checked

What this page does and does not claim

Google's US Local Services Ads list, read 5 October 2026, carries Auto Glass Repair Service as a national category, listed separately from Auto Repair Shop and Auto Body Shop. The same page says the Google Verified badge is currently unavailable for verticals in the auto categories. The seven categories restricted to California and Florida are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. Our windows, doors and glass page covers home glass and treats auto glass as a separate account, which this page now is.

What this page does not claim

No auto glass cost per lead, replacement ticket, insurance-versus-cash split or recalibration rate, because none is published for the trade and our dataset does not track it. Nothing here is advice about any policy or any state's rules on choosing a glass shop. No account count for auto glass.

Campaign structure

The eight auto glass lines, and how each one is searched

A chip repair, a mobile windshield replacement and a side glass after a break-in are three different calls at three different tickets, and one of them is a line of sight that cannot wait a day. Each line below gets its own campaign and its own ad.

Windshield replacement

The core search and the largest ticket. Searched by vehicle, by mobile, and by whether insurance pays.

Chip and crack repair

The cheap door. Searched urgently, done in an hour, and the first contact for the replacement a month later.

Mobile service

The word mobile is in the search. The travel radius decides the profit, the way a route does for a cleaner.

ADAS recalibration

Cameras and sensors behind the glass. Searched by people who have been told they need it, and a line many shops leave off the page.

Side and rear glass

After a break-in or an accident. Urgent, searched with the words door glass or back glass, and often cash pay.

Insurance claim glass

Often routed by the insurer's network. The ad reaches the driver who searched first and names you to the adjuster.

Fleet and commercial

Vans, trucks, rental lots. Won on a rate sheet and a relationship, with a small campaign for the manager who searches.

Classic and specialty glass

Searched by make and year by owners who will wait for the right shop. Low volume, high loyalty.

Before you sign anything

Three things worth walking away from

A plan that promises insurer-routed claims from Google Ads

The network assigns those jobs. An ad reaches the driver who searched, and a plan should say which one it is for.

An account bidding on glass prices and parts

Those are shoppers, not drivers with a crack. Ask to see the negative list before launch.

A mobile campaign with no radius

Forty miles out, the margin is gone before the glass is unloaded. The map is the account.

Auto Glass Repair Service is a national Local Services Ads category

Google lists Auto Glass Repair Service among its US Local Services Ads categories, and it is not one of the seven restricted to California and Florida, which are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. Local Services Ads charge per lead rather than per click and sit above the map pack. Google states on the same page that the Google Verified badge is currently unavailable for verticals in the auto, beauty and dining categories, so a listing here is carried by its reviews and profile rather than a badge. The demand behind this page

What auto glass shops search for, which is almost nothing

These are the terms auto glass owners use when they look for marketing help, from Google Keyword Planner for the United States. The whole audience is a few dozen searches a month, which is why no agency has written a page for this trade and why this one exists.

The advertising term shows bids from $5 to $108 a click, which is lead sellers and the national chain bidding for the independent's attention. What it costs

Our pricing, published, same as every other page on this site

$445 a month for Local Services Ads management. From $695 for Google Ads. $995 for both. No setup fee, no contract, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you and we never take a percentage of it. Custom landing pages for your campaigns are included at no charge.

The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked

Is auto glass a Google Local Services Ads category?

Yes, nationally. Google lists Auto Glass Repair Service among its US categories, separately from Auto Repair Shop and Auto Body Shop, and it is not one of the seven restricted to California and Florida, which are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. We read the list on 5 October 2026. Google also says its Verified badge is currently unavailable in the auto categories, so the listing carries your reviews instead.

Can Google Ads get me more insurance glass claims?

Mostly no. Claims routed through an insurer's network go where the network sends them. Search reaches the driver who looked before calling, or who is paying cash, and that driver can name your shop. Whether they may choose depends on their policy and their state, which we do not advise on.

What does an auto glass lead cost?

No auto glass benchmark is published. LocaliQ and WordStream's 2026 report puts Automotive Repair, Service and Parts at $29.96 a lead on a 15.51 percent conversion rate, against an all-industry average of $66.69. Your own account replaces that in the first month.

Should chip repair have its own campaign?

Yes, as the door rather than the business. It is searched urgently, done in an hour, and it is the first contact with the driver whose crack spreads next month. The replacement campaign is where the budget lives.

Do you work with a single mobile technician?

Yes, with no contract. A mobile shop is the cleanest version of this account, because the radius decides everything and the budget pauses when the day is booked.

What does it cost?

We charge $445 a month for Local Services Ads management, from $695 for Google Ads and $995 for both. No setup fee, no contract, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google directly to you and we never take a percentage of it. Campaign landing pages are included.

Who owns the ad account?

You do. We open it in your name and it stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours.

Exclusive leads

Exclusive auto glass leads, because you own the account they come from

We do not sell auto glass leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.

A shared lead from a lead seller

  • Sold to three or four auto glass shops at once
  • You are racing two competitors to call first
  • Priced per lead, so volume is their incentive
  • Stops the day you stop paying, with nothing left behind
  • No account, no history, no keyword data that is yours

An exclusive lead from your own account

  • Yours only. Never sold on, never shared
  • The driver called you, not a directory
  • Flat management fee, so nobody profits from more spend
  • The account, history and landing pages stay with you
  • Search terms reviewed weekly, and the waste taken out

Exclusive auto glass leads, by market

We provide exclusive auto glass leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total. Campaigns are managed remotely, so the market is set by where your mobile technicians go rather than where we sit.

SoutheastExclusive auto glass leads in Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Birmingham, Richmond

WestExclusive auto glass leads in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City
Do you provide exclusive auto glass leads in New York?
Yes. We run exclusive auto glass lead campaigns in New York, including Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens, and in more than 45 other United States metros. The leads are exclusive because they come from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in your name, so they are never resold and never shared with another auto glass shop.
Which cities do you run exclusive auto glass lead campaigns in?
We run exclusive auto glass lead campaigns in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and across roughly 50 metros nationwide. Campaigns are managed remotely, so coverage is set by where your mobile technicians go rather than where we are based. Smaller and rural markets are covered too, and the auction there is usually cheaper than any major metro.
Are your auto glass leads shared with other companies?
No. We are not a lead seller. A shared lead is sold to three or four auto glass shops at once, which is why you end up racing competitors to call first. We build and run the ad account in your name instead, so every call and form belongs to you alone, and the account, history and landing pages stay with you if we ever part ways.

Not on the list does not mean not covered. We run auto glass accounts nationwide across the United States, including smaller and rural markets where the auction is usually cheaper than any metro above.

Websites and landing pages

The page that says mobile, today, and what it costs

A driver with a cracked windshield wants three answers: can you come to me, can you do it today, and what will it cost. A page that answers all three above the fold, with a photo-and-VIN form, books the replacement before they call the next shop.

Fast and mobile first

Most contractor searches happen on a phone, so the page is built to load fast there. Faster pages convert more of the clicks you have already paid for.

Call and form tracking wired in

Every call and form is connected to tracking from day one, so you can see which ads and which pages actually produce booked work rather than just traffic.

Local SEO and schema

On-page SEO and local schema markup so the site earns map and organic visibility over time instead of only working while the ads are switched on.

Landing pages stay free. Campaign landing pages are included with ad management at no design fee, the same as they always have been. The pricing above is for a full website build, which is a separate thing you may or may not need.
