We checked Google's own list rather than assuming. Chimney sweep is not there, which means the pay-per-lead channel most home service trades now lean on simply does not exist for you. That is worth knowing before an agency sells you a package built around it.

Google publishes the categories eligible for US Local Services Ads. Roofers are there. Siding services are there. Snow removal is there. Sewage system is there. Chimney sweep is not, under that name or any other.
This matters because Local Services Ads have become the default pitch in home services, and a plan built around a channel you cannot access is a plan that will quietly underdeliver. It also means your paid search is Google Ads, where you bid on keywords and pay per click, and where the work is won or lost on structure rather than on a verification badge.
Google's US Local Services Ads category list, read from the raw page on 18 September 2026. Chimney does not appear. The same read confirmed that exactly seven categories are limited to California and Florida, which are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. If that changes and chimney is added, this page changes with it.
Chimney work is bought when people light fires and when they are told to. That concentrates the year into a short window, and it makes the two decisions most operators get wrong extremely expensive: what to do in the off season, and how fast to move when the season turns.
We are not going to print a percentage for how much of the year lands in which month, because no credible published figure exists and it varies enormously by climate. Your own booking history has it, and it is the first thing we would ask to see.
Demand starts before the first cold night, and so does the competition, but not at the same moment. The gap between the two is the cheapest work you will buy all year, and it closes fast once every other company switches its campaigns back on.
In season the constraint is almost never whether enough people are searching. It is whether you can get to them inside a week. Spending harder on traffic you cannot service is the most common in-season mistake.
Going dark is not free. Account history, review flow and the quote pipeline all decay, and you rebuild them every autumn. A small floor keeps the chimney inspection and masonry-repair work coming, which is not weather-driven in the same way.
A sweep and an inspection are small tickets. Relining, crown and cap work, masonry repair, waterproofing and full rebuilds are not, and they are usually discovered during the small job rather than searched for directly.
That has a direct consequence for how the account is built: the campaigns that pay for themselves are often not the ones bringing in the most revenue on paper, because the revenue shows up under a job the customer never searched for. An account judged only on the value of the booked service will misread which campaigns are working.
Chimney relining, crown repair, chimney leak and chimney rebuild are searched directly by people who already know what they need, usually after somebody else has inspected. Those searchers are rare, expensive and worth far more than a sweep.
A real estate inspection and an annual clean are different buyers arriving for different reasons, and one of them is on a deadline.
If the reline is not attributed back to the sweep that found it, every campaign report you read will understate the account.
Different equipment, different customers, different intent, and in many markets very different competition.
The sweep that pays a few hundred dollars and the reline that pays thousands are found by different searches, and a shared budget will always fund the cheap one first. These are the splits we build from, each with its own bids and landing page.
The doorway job. Small ticket, high volume, and the way most of the expensive work gets discovered.
Often ordered on a deadline during a property sale, which makes the searcher far more decisive than a routine caller.
One of the largest tickets in the trade, searched directly by people who have already been told they need it.
Specific, searched by name, and almost never bid on by competitors who only buy the words chimney sweep.
Structural work at a serious price, and a different buyer from the annual clean.
Triggered by rain rather than by the heating season, which makes it one of the few terms worth running in summer.
A small job that gets searched precisely, usually by somebody who has already diagnosed it.
A different appliance, a different customer and frequently different competition. It should never share a campaign with wood work.
It is not a category. Ask them to show you where it appears on Google's own list, and watch what happens.
In the trade with the steepest season of any we run, an even budget overspends in July and underspends in October. It is the default, and it is wrong here.
That is the cheapest job you do. The relining and masonry work is where the year is made, and those terms are searched by people who already know they need them.
We read Google's own US category list on 18 September 2026 and chimney does not appear on it under any name. Paid search here means Google Ads, where you bid on keywords and pay per click. Anyone offering you chimney Local Services Ads has not checked.
These are the terms chimney operators use when they look for marketing help, from Google Keyword Planner for the United States. The numbers are small and we are showing them anyway, because the alternative is quoting you a figure that flatters the pitch.

Run on 19 September 2026, United States, English. About 30 searches a month across every term, which is as close to nothing as this site publishes. We are showing it because the alternative is pretending otherwise. Almost no chimney company is looking for marketing help online, which is also why almost nobody has written anything useful for them, and why the operators who do advertise tend to find the auction quieter than they expected.
From $695 a month for Google Ads management. No setup fee, no contract, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you and we never take a percentage of it. Custom landing pages for your campaigns are included at no charge.
We do not quote you a Local Services Ads price, because there is no chimney category to manage. Our $445 Local Services Ads tier and the $995 combined tier exist for the trades Google does list, and they are on the services page if you also run a business in one of those. The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study.
Blue Grid Media is a chimney sweep marketing agency that runs Google Ads for chimney and fireplace companies across the United States, publishes its pricing at from $695 a month for Google Ads management, works month to month with no contract and no setup fee, and opens every chimney ad account in the owner's own name so the leads are exclusive rather than shared. Chimney is not a Google Local Services Ads category, so we do not sell chimney Local Services Ads to anybody.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive chimney leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total, generated from a Google Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at from $695 a month for Google Ads management, month to month with no contract and no setup fee.
No. We read Google's own US Local Services Ads category list on 18 September 2026 and chimney does not appear on it under any name, while roofers, siding services, snow removal and sewage system all do. Any agency selling you chimney Local Services Ads has not checked. Your paid search option is Google Ads.
Google Ads, structured around the fact that the small job finds the large one. Separate campaigns for sweeping, inspection and the repair work that gets searched directly, such as relining, crown repair and chimney leaks, with the budget weighted towards the season rather than spread evenly across the year.
We do not publish one, because no credible figure exists for this trade. Chimney is not even a Local Services Ads category, so the per-lead benchmarks published for other trades have nothing to do with it.
A small floor, usually. Going fully dark costs you account history and review flow, and chimney inspection and masonry repair do not follow the heating season as tightly as sweeping does. What we would not do is spend at peak-season levels in midsummer.
Yes, and with no Local Services Ads option available it carries more weight here than it does in trades that have one. The map pack and your reviews are doing work that a Google Verified badge would otherwise share.
From $695 a month for Google Ads management, with no setup fee, no contract and month to month terms. Ad spend is billed by Google directly to you and we never take a percentage of it, and campaign landing pages are included. We do not quote a Local Services Ads price for chimney work, because Google has no chimney category to manage.
You do. We open it in your name and it stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours.
We do not sell chimney leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.
We provide exclusive chimney leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total. Campaigns are managed remotely, so the market is set by where your crews work rather than where we sit.
Not on the list does not mean not covered. We run chimney accounts nationwide across the United States, including smaller and rural markets where the auction is usually cheaper than any metro above.
With no Local Services Ads option in this trade, your website and your reviews carry the trust that a Google Verified badge would otherwise share. In a short season it also has to convert quickly, because the people searching in October are booking in October.
Most contractor searches happen on a phone, so the page is built to load fast there. Faster pages convert more of the clicks you have already paid for.
Every call and form is connected to tracking from day one, so you can see which ads and which pages actually produce booked work rather than just traffic.
On-page SEO and local schema markup so the site earns map and organic visibility over time instead of only working while the ads are switched on.
Bring last year's booking history. We will work out when your demand actually turns, what the off-season floor should be, and which repair terms are worth bidding on in your market. No charge.
