A gutter company sells four things at four tickets, and Google treats them differently. Cleaning sits inside the Window cleaning services category in Local Services Ads. Installation, repair and guards are not categories at all. The account that works runs cleaning where it is cheap and exclusive, runs installs on Search by the foot, and never lets the two share a budget.

Four complaints we hear from gutter companies before we see the account. Each one traces back to the same mistake: four services with four tickets were bought on one budget, in one channel.
October is all cleanings at $150, and the ad bill is the same as the month I hung 900 feet of seamless.
A cleaning lead and an installation lead cost about the same click. One budget across both funds whichever click is cheaper, and in leaf season that is always the cleaning. Cleaning belongs on Local Services Ads, where you pay per lead instead of per click.
Every guard search puts me against a national brand with a TV budget.
That auction is theirs. You do not win the generic guard search, and you do not need to. You win on a stated price the brand will not match, on installing this week, and on the repair and cleaning lines the brand does not offer.
The agency told me a gutter lead costs $130. At my ticket that loses money.
That is a roofing number. Our own roofing page says so: a $130 lead works on a roof and is unprofitable on gutters. Nobody publishes a credible gutter-only figure, so an agency quoting one borrowed it.
Half my clicks were people searching lead flashing and lead box gutters.
Lead the metal, not lead the customer. Those searches, plus guard reviews and DIY videos, go on the negative list before the first dollar is spent. An unmanaged account pays for them for months.
Google's US Local Services Ads list has no gutter category. It does have Window cleaning services, and our pressure washing and window cleaning guide covers how gutter cleaning sits inside that category. So a gutter company with a cleaning line can carry the Google Verified badge and pay per lead for that line. For installation, repair and guards, paid search means Google Ads.
That split is the whole structure. Cleaning on Local Services Ads, which is seasonal and recurring. Installation and guards on Search, by material and by the foot. Repair as the small campaign that finds the replacement.

Seasonal, recurring, cheap per lead and exclusive. The channel exists and almost no gutter company uses it, because they did not know which category to look under.
The real contract. Seamless, by material, with a per-foot range in the ad, landing on a page that shows your installs. Measured on estimates.
Leaks, sagging runs, pulled hangers. Urgent and small, and the first contact that turns into a replacement when the crew is on the ladder.
Our roofing page runs gutters as an add-on line, and it publishes two things worth keeping. Gutter and add-on work closes at 35 to 55 percent. And the same $130 that is a fine roofing lead is unprofitable on a gutter lead. It also cites LocaliQ's benchmark for roofing and gutters together at around $228 a lead on Google Ads. That is a roofing number. A gutter cleaning company cannot afford it. A seamless installer can.
So the lead price that works depends on which line the lead is for. A cleaning lead has to be cheap, which is why it belongs in Local Services Ads. A seamless replacement can carry a Search lead. A guard job sits in between, and the national guard brands are in that auction with budgets a local company should not try to match.
A $40 cleaning lead and a $200 installation lead can both be right on the same account.
Lead flashing, lead box gutters, gutter guard reviews and install-it-yourself videos click and do not book. Out before the first dollar.
The national brands own the generic guard search. A local company wins on a price the brand will not match and on the install being this week.
Two lines, two definitions of a conversion, both sent back to Google against the click.
This is the table we build the account from. The lead costs in it are the only ones this site publishes for the trade, and both come from the roofing page.
| Service | Where it is bought | What the lead can cost | What goes wrong |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cleaning | Local Services Ads, under Window cleaning services | Per lead, exclusive, and the cheapest lead in the trade | Most gutter companies never set it up because they looked for a gutter category |
| Seamless installation | Google Ads, by material, with a per-foot range in the ad | A Search lead; roofing plus gutters benchmarks around $228 on LocaliQ, and only an install carries that | Shares a budget with cleaning and starves every October |
| Guards | Google Ads, on your brand of guard and your price, not the generic term | Between the two; a national brand sets the ceiling on the generic search | Chasing the generic guard auction against a national ad budget |
| Repair | A small Google Ads campaign for leaks, sagging runs and pulled hangers | Low, and the job is small; its value is the replacement it finds | Measured as a lead instead of as the door to a replacement |
| Lead sellers | Shared leads, resold | The terms gutter leads and gutter cleaning leads are MEDIUM and HIGH competition at $10 to $52 a click, which is sellers bidding for you | The same homeowner is sold to three companies and the cheapest cleaning wins |
Category status read from Google's list on 4 October 2026. The $130 and $228 figures are from Blue Grid Media's roofing page and LocaliQ as cited there. Competition and click prices on the lead-seller terms are from Keyword Planner on 4 October 2026. No gutter-only cost per lead is claimed.
Google's US Local Services Ads list, read 4 October 2026, carries Window cleaning services as a national category and no gutter category under any name. The seven categories restricted to California and Florida are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. The close rate and lead figures above are Blue Grid Media's own, published on the roofing page. No gutter-specific cost per lead is published anywhere on this site, because none exists in our dataset, and we will not invent one.
Gutters are usually sold as a roofing add-on, and our roofing page is built for that company. This page is for the company where gutters are the business, with cleaning as a recurring line and installation as the contract.
Cleaning, repair, replacement and guards are four different sales at four different tickets, and only one of them is a Local Services Ads category. Each line below is handled on its own, because a budget shared across all four funds the cheapest.
Seasonal, recurring, and the one line Google covers in Local Services Ads under Window cleaning services.
Sagging runs, leaking seams, pulled hangers. Urgent, small, and the first contact that turns into a replacement.
The core job. Sold by the foot, searched by the material and the word seamless, and priced like a real contract.
The line the national brands advertise hardest. A local company wins it on price and on being there, not on outbidding them.
Extensions, underground drains, splash blocks. Searched by the problem, usually a wet basement, and worth its own ad.
Found during the gutter job, searched by name, and a different crew skill.
Specialist work at a specialist price, found by people who are not typing gutters.
Property managers and builders. Bids rather than calls, and a separate campaign.
No credible published figure exists for the trade alone. A number borrowed from roofing is wrong by a multiple.
The category exists under Window cleaning services, it is cheap and exclusive, and almost nobody in the trade uses it. Leaving it out leaves the easiest line on the table.
Four tickets, one budget. It funds the cheapest click, and the cheapest click is a cleaning in October.
We read Google's own US category list on 4 October 2026 and gutter installation does not appear on it under any name. Paid search here means Google Ads, where you bid on keywords and pay per click. Anyone offering you gutter installation Local Services Ads has not checked.
These are the terms gutter contractors use when they look for marketing help, from Google Keyword Planner for the United States. A raw pull is cluttered with lead flashing and lead box gutter searches, which are the metal, not the customer, and we removed them. What remains is mostly about buying leads.

Run on 4 October 2026, United States, English. Around 300 searches a month across the real terms, from Keyword Planner for the United States on 4 October 2026, after removing lead flashing and lead box gutter searches, which are the metal. Most of what remains is about buying leads, at $10 to $52 a click, which is lead sellers advertising to gutter companies.
From $695 a month for Google Ads management. No setup fee, no contract, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you and we never take a percentage of it. Custom landing pages for your campaigns are included at no charge.
We do not quote you a Local Services Ads price, because Google has no gutter installation category to manage. Our $445 Local Services Ads tier and the $995 combined tier exist for the trades Google does list, and they are on the services page if you also run a business in one of those. The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study.
Blue Grid Media is a gutter company marketing agency that runs Google Ads for gutter installation, repair and guard contractors across the United States, publishes its pricing at from $695 a month for Google Ads management, works month to month with no contract and no setup fee, and opens every gutter ad account in the contractor's own name so the leads are exclusive rather than shared. Gutter installation is not a Google Local Services Ads category; gutter cleaning runs under Google's Window cleaning services category, which we manage at $445 a month.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive gutter leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total, generated from a Google Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at from $695 a month for Google Ads management, month to month with no contract and no setup fee.
Installation is not. Cleaning is, under Window cleaning services, which Google lists as a national category and which our pressure washing guide documents. We read the list on 4 October 2026. So a gutter company runs cleaning on Local Services Ads and installation, repair and guards on Google Ads.
We do not publish a gutter-specific figure, because none exists in our dataset. Our roofing page cites LocaliQ at around $228 a lead for roofing and gutters together on Google Ads, and notes that a $130 lead is unprofitable on gutter work, which is why cleaning belongs on Local Services Ads and only installation can carry a Search lead.
Not on the generic guard search, which they own. A local company wins on a stated price the brand will not match, on installing this week, and on the repair and cleaning lines the brands do not offer.
No. Four tickets on one budget funds the cheapest click. Cleaning gets Local Services Ads, installation gets its own Search campaign measured on estimates, and repair gets a small campaign that finds the replacements.
Yes, no minimum and no contract. The cleaning line on Local Services Ads is the cheapest start in the trade, and the installation campaign scales with what the crew can hang.
From $695 a month for Google Ads management, with no setup fee, no contract and month to month terms. Ad spend is billed by Google directly to you and we never take a percentage of it, and campaign landing pages are included. We do not quote a Local Services Ads price for gutter installation work, because Google has no gutter installation category to manage.
You do. We open it in your name and it stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours.
We do not sell gutter leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.
We provide exclusive gutter leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total. Campaigns are managed remotely, so the market is set by where your crews work rather than where we sit.
Not on the list does not mean not covered. We run gutter accounts nationwide across the United States, including smaller and rural markets where the auction is usually cheaper than any metro above.
A cleaning customer wants a date and a price. A replacement customer wants to see seamless runs on houses like theirs and a per-foot range. Sending both to one page loses one of them.
Most contractor searches happen on a phone, so the page is built to load fast there. Faster pages convert more of the clicks you have already paid for.
Every call and form is connected to tracking from day one, so you can see which ads and which pages actually produce booked work rather than just traffic.
On-page SEO and local schema markup so the site earns map and organic visibility over time instead of only working while the ads are switched on.
Bring your mix of cleaning, repair and installation revenue. We will work out which side carries the account, whether guards deserve their own campaign against the national brands, and what a replacement estimate can cost. No charge.
