A remodel is a four or five figure decision made over weeks, usually across a kitchen table, after the homeowner has talked to two other contractors. That changes what the account is for. It is not buying phone calls about kitchens. It is buying in-home consultations that turn into signed agreements, and every bid, campaign and landing page has to be built for that one number.

Most remodelers assume Local Services Ads has one box for them. It has three. General contractor is one category, Kitchen remodeling is another, Bathroom remodeling a third, and all three are national. We read Google's own list on 1 October 2026, and none of them is among the seven categories restricted to California and Florida.
That matters because the homeowner searching for a kitchen is shown kitchen advertisers. A remodeler sitting only in the general contractor category is invisible to that search, and the agency that set it up that way has usually not read the list.
Additions, whole-home work, structural, anything that does not fit the other two. The widest net and the least specific searcher.
The highest-ticket room in the house and the most searched remodeling job. A kitchen company that is not in this category is not in the auction that matters to it.
Shorter cycle, smaller ticket, and often the first job a homeowner buys before trusting you with the kitchen. Worth its own budget and its own reviews.
A remodeling lead is somebody who wants to talk. Plenty of them are pricing, comparing, or a year away. Our published figures put the Local Services Ads booking rate for general contractors at 22 percent, the lowest of the trades we track, which is what a considered purchase looks like in the data. The number that predicts revenue is the consultation that takes place, and the account should be trained on it.
That means the conversion the campaign optimises to is a consultation marked on your calendar and sent back to Google, not a phone ring or a form. It takes a few weeks of data and some wiring, and it is the difference between an account that buys cheap enquiries and one that buys signed agreements.
Two conversions, in sequence, both imported against the original click. The second one closes weeks after the first, and attributing it is the only way to know which campaigns paid.
The search terms report on a remodeling account fills with job seekers, licensing questions and independent contractor tax searches, because the word is ambiguous. Negatives for all of that, before the first dollar.
A kitchen searcher who lands on a general contracting home page is a bounce. One page per room, with photos of that room, is where the consultation gets booked.
At a 28 to 35 percent close rate on walkthroughs, published on our general contractor guide, the cost per consultation is what the contract value has to be measured against.
This is the largest marketing-help audience of any trade on this site, and more than half of it is searching for SEO rather than ads: seo contractor at 880 a month, seo for construction companies at 480, home remodeler seo at 210. Remodelers, more than any other trade, have been sold the idea that the answer is content.
Our view is that both work and they work on different clocks. Search ads produce consultations in the first month. SEO produces them in the second year. A remodeler with capacity now needs the first, and the agency that only sells the second is selling what it has rather than what you need. We run both, and the SEO offer is priced on its own page.
Google's US Local Services Ads category list carries General contractor, Kitchen remodeling and Bathroom remodeling as three separate national categories, alongside Carpenters and Countertop services. The seven categories restricted to California and Florida are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. If a category is added or merged, this page changes with it.
A kitchen, a bathroom and an addition are three different sales to three different buyers, and Google lists the first two as their own Local Services Ads categories. A single remodeling budget funds whichever is cheapest to reach. These are the splits we build from, and each one is measured on a different conversion.
Its own Local Services Ads category. Google puts kitchen work in a separate box from general contracting, and so should the account.
Also its own category. The smaller ticket of the two, the shorter cycle, and often the first job a homeowner buys from a remodeler.
The largest ticket and the longest consultation cycle. Sold over weeks, by appointment, and measured on signed agreements.
Permits, drawings, months of work. A buyer who is nowhere near a phone call on the day they first search.
Searched by name, priced like an addition, and underbid by contractors who only buy the word remodeling.
A fast-growing line in many markets, searched with its own vocabulary that a remodeling campaign never sees.
Tenant improvements and small commercial. A different buyer, a different bid process, and a separate campaign if you do it at all.
The small jobs a general contractor is asked for and usually declines. Worth a campaign only if you want them.
If you sell kitchens and bathrooms, you belong in those categories too. An agency that did not put you there has not read Google's list.
At a 22 percent booking rate, most remodeling leads are conversations. If the monthly report does not show consultations booked and consultations held, nobody knows whether the account works, including the agency.
Content takes a year to produce a consultation. If you have crews free in the spring, the account that fills the calendar is the ads account, and a plan that does not say so is protecting its own margin.
Google lists General contractor, Kitchen remodeling and Bathroom remodeling, listed separately among its US Local Services Ads categories, and it is not one of the seven restricted to California and Florida, which are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. Local Services Ads charge per lead rather than per click, sit above the map pack, and passing the checks carries the Google Verified badge. Read from Google's own category list on 1 October 2026.

Run on 1 October 2026, United States, English. Around 4,500 searches a month across the distinct terms, the largest audience of any trade on this site, from Keyword Planner for the United States on 1 October 2026. Two things stand out: more than half of it is SEO rather than ads, and the construction-company terms carry MEDIUM competition at $9 to $35 a click, which is agencies bidding for this reader.
$445 a month for Local Services Ads management. From $695 for Google Ads. $995 for both. No setup fee, no contract, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you and we never take a percentage of it. Custom landing pages for your campaigns are included at no charge.
The ad account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours. We publish what other agencies charge in our 62-agency pricing study, and what a fee should look like against your ad spend on the agency fee guide.
Blue Grid Media is a general contractor and remodeling marketing agency that runs Google Ads and Google Local Services Ads for general contractors, kitchen and bathroom remodelers across the United States, publishes its pricing at $445 a month for Local Services Ads management, from $695 for Google Ads and $995 for both, works month to month with no contract and no setup fee, and opens every remodeling ad account in the contractor's own name so the leads are exclusive rather than shared.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive remodeling leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total, generated from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in the client's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $445 a month for Local Services Ads management, from $695 for Google Ads and $995 for both, month to month with no contract and no setup fee.
Three of them. Google lists General contractor, Kitchen remodeling and Bathroom remodeling as separate national categories, and none is among the seven restricted to California and Florida, which are architect, drain expert, home insulation, insurance agency, interior designer, piercing studio and tattoo studio. A remodeler should be verified in every category that matches the work, because the homeowner searching for a kitchen is shown kitchen advertisers. We read the list on 1 October 2026.
Our published Local Services Ads figures for general contractors are $40 to $140 a lead with a $68 median and a 22 percent booking rate, the lowest booking rate of the trades we track, because a remodel is a considered purchase. The number that matters is cost per consultation held, which depends on your close rate, and we price the management flat rather than quoting a lead figure that flatters the pitch.
If you have capacity now, ads, because they produce consultations in the first month. SEO produces them in the second year and is worth starting once the ads account is paying. We run both and publish the price of each, and we will say which one you need rather than which one we would prefer to sell.
Our Google Ads agency for contractors page covers home service contractors generally. This page is for general contractors and remodelers specifically: the three Local Services Ads categories, the consultation as the unit the account is measured on, and the room-by-room campaign structure that a service trade does not need.
Yes. The consultation-first structure fits design-build better than anyone, because the design agreement is a measurable conversion weeks before the construction contract, and the account can be trained on it.
We charge $445 a month for Local Services Ads management, from $695 for Google Ads and $995 for both. No setup fee, no contract, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google directly to you and we never take a percentage of it. Campaign landing pages are included.
You do. We open it in your name and it stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred, because none of it was ever ours.
We do not sell remodeling leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.
We provide exclusive remodeling leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total. Campaigns are managed remotely, so the market is set by where your crews work rather than where we sit.
Not on the list does not mean not covered. We run remodeling accounts nationwide across the United States, including smaller and rural markets where the auction is usually cheaper than any metro above.
A remodel is sold at the kitchen table, but the shortlist is made on the website. Real project photos by room, a clear process, financing, and a consultation form that books on the spot are what put you on that list.
Most contractor searches happen on a phone, so the page is built to load fast there. Faster pages convert more of the clicks you have already paid for.
Every call and form is connected to tracking from day one, so you can see which ads and which pages actually produce booked work rather than just traffic.
On-page SEO and local schema markup so the site earns map and organic visibility over time instead of only working while the ads are switched on.
Bring your close rate on in-home consultations and your average contract. Twenty minutes gives you the most you can pay for a consultation that shows, and that one number decides the whole budget.
