The Incumbent Is Scored Too
Most pages with this title are written by an agency that wants the account, and they read like it. So Scorpion is in the table on the same five questions as everyone else, and it does not finish last. It publishes its contract length, it manages Local Services Ads properly, and it states what you get back on exit, which several of the alternatives never address at all.
What it does not publish is a price, and its transfer list has one specific gap. Those are the reasons a contractor goes looking, so they are measured rather than asserted:
- Does it publish pricing?
- Does it state contract terms?
- Does it say you own the ad account?
- Does it manage Local Services Ads?
- Does it say what happens to your website?
One point per yes. When scores tie, home services agencies rank ahead of multi-industry ones, then published pricing wins, then alphabetical order. Pages were checked on September 18, 2026.
Disclosure. Blue Grid Media runs this site, wrote the rubric, and comes out first. That is a conflict of interest. What keeps it checkable: every card links to the exact page we read, every quote is verbatim, competitor criticism written by other agencies was excluded on principle, and where we could not read a source we say so instead of guessing.
Each One, in Detail
1Blue Grid Media
Google Ads and Local Services Ads for home service contractors
Best for: contractors who want every number answered before the call rather than after the contract.
We publish the whole price list: $445 a month for Local Services Ads, from $695 for Google Ads, $995 for both, no setup fee, month to month. Ad spend is billed by Google straight to you and we never take a percentage of it.
The account is opened in your name and stays there, along with the landing pages, the call tracking numbers and the conversion history. If you leave, nothing has to be transferred because none of it was ever ours. That is the whole reason this page exists: the question is easy to answer, and most of this category does not answer it.
Verified from bluegridmedia.com/services on September 18, 2026. Score: 5 of 5.
Strengths- Every rate published, flat fees rather than a percentage of spend
- Month to month, no setup fee, no minimum term
- Account, landing pages and tracking numbers stay in your name
- Local Services Ads and Google Ads run together or separately
Limitations- We wrote this rubric and we come out first, so weigh that
- Smaller team than every national agency on this list
- Home services and a few adjacent trades only, not a general agency
2Footbridge Media
Home services marketing company, publishing since 2004
Best for: small contractors who want the cheapest published entry point and can live with the account terms.
The cheapest published pricing on this page, and the most of it: the contractor marketing program is $249 a month with the website included, Google Ads management is $149 for the first month and $249 after, and Local Services Ads is a $499 setup plus $149 a month. It states that the ads fee excludes your actual advertising budget, and there are no contracts plus a 90-day money-back window.
Then read the fine print together. The FAQ says "we don't believe in holding your site hostage" and promises help taking the site with you. The Google Ads page says the opposite about the account: it creates the account and "retains ownership of the Google Ads account". Your site is yours, your conversion history is not.
Verified from footbridgemedia.com Google Ads page on September 18, 2026. Score: 4 of 5.
Strengths- Publishes more of its pricing than anyone else here
- No contracts, and a 90-day money-back window
- Local Services Ads priced separately and plainly
- Says you can take the website with you
Limitations- Keeps ownership of the Google Ads account it creates for you
- That sits awkwardly beside its own "no hostage" promise
- Fees are small because the scope is small, so check what is included
3Hook Agency
Home services agency with a published rate card
Best for: contractors who want published prices and plain ownership, and can carry a $2,000 a month floor.
Hook publishes a full rate card: local SEO at $2,800 a month, answer engine work at $4,000, pay-per-click covering Google Ads and Local Service Ads at $2,000, Meta at $3,000, and websites at $1,000 or $2,000 a month billed as a build split over twelve months.
The ownership language is the clearest on this page and it is specific: "you own your account, and your credit card is connected to the spend", alongside "You own your website 100%". A card in your own name is a detail that cannot be faked. What is missing is contract terms: neither the pricing page nor the about page says anything about length, notice or cancellation.
Verified from hookagency.com pricing page on September 18, 2026. Score: 4 of 5.
Strengths- Full rate card published by service
- Ad account in your name with your card on it
- Website ownership stated plainly
- Local Service Ads included in the pay-per-click fee
Limitations- No contract terms published anywhere we could find
- A $2,000 a month floor prices out smaller contractors
- Aimed at contractors over $2M to $3M in revenue, and its two pages disagree on which
4WebFX
Large multi-industry agency with a home services vertical
Best for: contractors who want a big agency with published tiers and do not mind a six-month commitment.
WebFX publishes tiered management: plans start at $750 a month, with initial optimisation from $1,200 and progressive management at $750, or $975 or 15% of spend, or $4,500 or 12% of spend as budgets rise. Google Local Services Ads is listed as an included network. Its home services page quotes a different floor, $650 a month for paid search, which the PPC page contradicts.
Ownership is answered directly and is the strongest version of it here: "Who owns my ad account? You do! At WebFX, we ensure our clients retain full ownership of their advertising accounts across Google, Microsoft, and other ad networks." The commitment is six months minimum, and the website question is not addressed at all.
Verified from webfx.com PPC services page on September 18, 2026. Score: 4 of 5.
Strengths- Published tiers tied to ad spend bands
- Ad account ownership stated across networks
- Local Services Ads included in the plan table
- Minimum contract length stated openly
Limitations- Six-month minimum rather than month to month
- Its own two pages disagree on the paid search floor, $650 against $750
- Nothing published about what happens to your website
- A generalist with a trade page rather than a trade specialist
5Scorpion
The incumbent: a large multi-industry agency with its own platform
Best for: larger businesses that want one vendor running technology, intake and media and are comfortable on its platform.
Scorpion publishes no price. Its sitemap runs to 1,947 URLs and contains no pricing page, and the FAQ answers the question with "The investment you decide to make with Scorpion depends on your business goals." Terms are stated: typically a 12-month contract for its marketing technology and services like SEO, with digital advertising typically month to month.
The exit answer is the reason contractors end up on a page like this. Scorpion says it transfers "full ownership of key accounts such as Google Analytics/GA4, Google Local Services Ads, social media accounts, website content, and more". The Google Ads account is not in that list, though it is named elsewhere on the same site when contracts are discussed. The website comes back as static files: "You'll need to work with another vendor to rebuild your website on a content management system of your choosing." Both are conditioned on "after fulfilling their contract".
Verified from scorpion.co FAQ on September 18, 2026. Score: 3 of 5.
Strengths- Contract terms published, including the 12-month technology term
- Local Services Ads managed in detail, including disputes
- Says plainly what you get back, which most agencies do not
- Scale: 25 years and $3B+ in attributed revenue claimed
Limitations- No price published anywhere on a 1,947-page site
- The transfer list names GA4 and LSA but never the Google Ads account
- The website returns as files, so you pay someone to rebuild it
- Trustpilot shows 4.2 from 34 reviews, with 73% five star and 24% one star
6RYNO Strategic Solutions
Home services agency; Blue Corona merged into it in October 2024
Best for: trades contractors who want a large home services specialist and do not need published pricing.
RYNO works only in the trades, which is a real difference from Scorpion, and Blue Corona merged into it effective October 2024. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of EverService Holdings, a portfolio company of Sunstone Partners, so the private equity structure buyers dislike about large agencies applies here too.
On the published questions it is thin: no pricing, no contract terms, and an ownership statement that covers the website only, "you own 100% of every asset we create for you--including your website. The code, content, imagery... everything", with no mention of the ad account. Local Services Ads is offered. Note the source: the live site would not clear its bot challenge for us, so this row comes from an archived snapshot dated 11 August 2026.
Verified from rynoss.com homepage, Wayback snapshot 11 Aug 2026 on September 18, 2026. Score: 2 of 5.
Strengths- Trades only, not a general agency
- Local Services Ads offered
- Website asset ownership stated in detail
Limitations- No published pricing or contract terms
- Ownership statement never mentions the ad account
- Private equity owned, like the incumbent it competes with
- We could only read an archived copy of the site
7Clicks Geek
Pennsylvania agency for local service businesses, established 2015
Best for: contractors who care most about keeping the account and the data, and do not need LSA managed.
The terms and ownership answers are as good as anyone's here: "No Long-Term Contracts. Month-to-month agreements", and "Your Google Ads account belongs to you. If you ever leave, you keep everything, the account, data, and history."
Two gaps. There is no published price: the dollar figures on the site are a budget dropdown, an ROI calculator and a claim about total spend managed. And Local Services Ads is not offered as a service, only mentioned in passing, which matters if LSA is where your leads come from. It also sells white label work to other agencies, so a competitor could be a client.
Verified from clicksgeek.com Google Ads page on September 18, 2026. Score: 2 of 5.
Strengths- Month to month, stated plainly
- Ad account, data and history stay yours
- Google Premier Partner, established 2015
Limitations- No published pricing
- Local Services Ads not offered as a service
- Nothing published about the website
- Works across 298 industries, so not a trade specialist
8Rival Digital
Home services agency focused on HVAC and the trades
Best for: HVAC companies that want a small trades agency and will get the terms in writing themselves.
Rival is built for home services and offers Local Services Ads management, which is the right shape for a contractor. Its about page lists "Flat-Rate Pricing" as a differentiator, but the button next to it says "Request Pricing" and no figure appears anywhere. The only dollar values on the site are a current-revenue dropdown in the contact form.
Ownership appears as a four-word bullet, "You Own Everything", with no sentence anywhere explaining whether that means the ad account, the website or the data. It is the weakest ownership claim on this page precisely because it sounds like the strongest.
Verified from rivaldigital.com about page on September 18, 2026. Score: 1 of 5.
Strengths- Home services focus
- Local Services Ads managed
- Claims flat-rate pricing rather than a percentage
Limitations- Flat-rate pricing claimed but never published
- No contract terms stated
- "You Own Everything" is never explained
- Its general LSA page is written only about HVAC
9Thrive Internet Marketing Agency
Large multi-industry agency, in business since 2005
Best for: businesses outside home services that want a large generalist and month-to-month terms.
Thrive states month-to-month contracts plainly on its homepage, which is more than several agencies here manage. After that the answers run out.
Its page is titled digital marketing pricing and contains no price. The only dollar amounts are form fields marked hidden in the markup, asking for your monthly budget and web design budget. There is no ownership statement, and its 1,395-URL sitemap contains no Local Services Ads service page, only a blog post. It describes clients "in just about every industry", with no home services vertical.
Verified from thriveagency.com pricing page on September 18, 2026. Score: 1 of 5.
Strengths- Month-to-month contracts stated
- Long-established, since 2005
- Large service range
Limitations- A pricing page with no prices, only hidden budget fields
- No ownership statement of any kind
- No Local Services Ads service page
- No home services specialism
