Movers carrying boxes from a truck into a home
Moving Company Google Ads & LSA

A local move and an interstate move are not the same customer

One books in three days and compares two quotes. The other plans for two months, compares six, and is worth many times more. Run in one campaign, the cheap local clicks take the budget and the long distance work never gets funded.

What this page is about, and what it is not

Our guide at /google-lsa-for-movers already covers the thing everyone tells movers: speed to quote is the single biggest conversion variable, and May to September carries most of the year. That is true and it is not repeated here.

This page is about the split nobody structures for. Local and long distance are different products sold to different people on different timelines, and almost every moving account we open runs them against one budget and one bid.

Markets

Moving markets are defined by which direction people are going

We run moving company accounts nationwide, and the campaign is not the same everywhere. These are the three market types that change how the account gets built, and the metros where each one applies.

High outflow metros

New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Seattle, Newark, Philadelphia

People leaving, which means long distance and interstate origin work. Higher ticket, longer planning window, and a buyer comparing five quotes over several weeks rather than booking on the first call.

High inflow metros

Phoenix, Austin, Tampa, Charlotte, Nashville, Dallas, Raleigh, Jacksonville

People arriving. Destination-side local moves, unpacking, and storage while they close on a house. Shorter decision, smaller ticket, far higher volume, and the work that fills a slow week.

Dense urban, access-constrained

New York, Boston, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, Baltimore

Walk-ups, permits, elevator bookings and no parking. The job costs more to do and the quote has to reflect it, so the ads and the page have to qualify for access before anyone sends a truck.

Campaign structure

The moving job types we split campaigns by

Each of these breaks even at a different price, so each gets its own campaign, its own bid and its own landing page. Run together, the cheapest work wins the budget every time.

Local residential move

The volume, and the cheapest clicks.

Short notice, price sensitive, and booked fast. It funds the account and it will happily eat the whole budget if you let it share a campaign with interstate work.

Long distance and interstate

Many times the ticket, months of consideration.

A different buyer entirely. They are researching for weeks, comparing binding and non-binding estimates, and reading reviews before they call. The page has to answer questions, not just ask for a phone number.

Packing and unpacking

Attach revenue, rarely bid.

Sold alongside the move far more easily than it is bought cold, but worth its own ad group because a proportion of people search it on its own.

Storage

Recurring, and a bridge product.

Often the thing a customer needs between closing dates. Recurring revenue attached to a one-off move, and it keeps you in contact for the second half of the job.

Labour only and load/unload

Low ticket, high frequency.

People renting the truck themselves. Small jobs that keep a crew productive, and a genuine on-ramp to a full service move on the next one.

Specialty items

Pianos, safes, art, gun safes.

Thin volume, high margin, and almost nobody bids it. The customer is not comparing three quotes because most companies will not take the job.

Commercial and office moves

Contracts, out of hours, different buyer.

Facilities and office managers on a planned timeline, often working evenings and weekends. Long cycle, large invoice, and completely different ad copy from a homeowner.

Last minute and emergency

Highest intent in the category.

Eviction, a failed closing, a cancelled mover. Expensive clicks that convert immediately, and only worth bidding if you genuinely have a crew free.

Straight answer

Moving Services is a Local Services Ads category, and that matters here

Movers can run Local Services Ads nationwide. There is no state restriction on the category, so the Google Guaranteed badge and the per-lead placement above the regular results are both available to you.

That badge does unusual work in this trade. Moving has a trust problem that HVAC does not: hostage loads, quotes that double on the day, brokers posing as carriers. A verified badge and a real review count answer an objection the customer already has before they call.

Before you sign

Red flags when hiring a moving company marketing agency

Ask these before handing over the ad account. The answers separate most agencies faster than any case study will.

1Local and long distance in one campaign

The two are many times apart in value and book on different timelines. One bid cannot serve both, and the cheaper one always wins the budget.

2They buy you brokered moving leads

Moving is one of the most aggressively brokered categories there is. A lead sold to four carriers is a race, not a customer. Owning the account is the only version where the lead is yours alone.

3No campaign for the destination side

Inflow metros generate local moves, unpacking and storage from people who have just arrived. If you only bid origin-side long distance you are ignoring the higher volume half.

4They quote a percentage of ad spend

Moving is violently seasonal. A percentage fee scales with your summer and scales back down when the work does not, which is exactly backwards from what you need.

5Reporting stops at the lead

A quote request is not a booked move. The number that matters is cost per job on the truck, and that needs tracking that survives the estimate.

6No access qualification on the page

Stairs, permits and elevator bookings change what the job costs. A page that does not ask sends crews to jobs that were quoted wrong.

Questions moving company owners actually ask

Can moving companies use Google Local Services Ads?

Yes. Moving Services is a Local Services Ads category with no state restriction, so it is available nationwide. You get the Google Guaranteed badge and placement above the regular search results, charged per lead. In a trade with a trust problem, that verification does more work than it does in most categories.

Why separate local and long distance campaigns?

Because they are different products sold to different people. A local move is booked in days by someone comparing two quotes on price. An interstate move is planned over weeks by someone comparing binding and non-binding estimates and reading reviews. One bid and one landing page cannot serve both, and the cheaper clicks will take the budget every time.

What does moving company marketing cost?

Google Ads management starts at $695 a month, flat by ad spend tier rather than a percentage of your budget. Local Services Ads management is $445 a month standalone or $300 alongside Google Ads. Landing pages are included with no design fee. Ad spend is separate and billed by Google directly to you.

How do you handle the seasonal swing?

By pacing rather than pausing. Moving peaks hard in summer and most accounts respond by switching off in winter, which resets the learning and hands the shoulder season to whoever stayed live. We hold a floor through the quiet months and push commercial and last minute work, which are far less seasonal than residential.

Do you buy moving leads?

No. We are not a lead seller and we do not resell anything. Moving is one of the most heavily brokered categories in the market, and a lead sold to four carriers is a race rather than a customer. We build and run the ad account in your name, so every quote request belongs to you alone.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Month to month, no setup fee, no minimum term. The Google Ads account and the Local Services Ads profile stay in your name, so if we part ways you keep the account, the history and the landing pages.

Exclusive leads

Exclusive moving company leads, because you own the account they come from

We do not sell moving company leads and we do not resell them. We build and run the Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your name, which means every call and form that comes out of it belongs to you alone. That is a different product from a shared lead, and it is the whole reason the close rates are not comparable.

A shared lead from a lead seller

  • Sold to three or four moving company companies at once
  • You are racing two competitors to call first
  • Priced per lead, so volume is their incentive
  • Stops the day you stop paying, with nothing left behind
  • No account, no history, no keyword data that is yours

An exclusive lead from your own account

  • Yours only. Never sold on, never shared
  • The homeowner called you, not a directory
  • Flat management fee, so nobody profits from more spend
  • The account, history and landing pages stay with you
  • Local Services Ads disputes filed weekly on your behalf

Exclusive moving company leads, by market

We provide exclusive moving company leads in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and in roughly 50 United States metros in total. Campaigns are managed remotely, so the market is set by where your crews work rather than where we sit.

SoutheastExclusive moving company leads in Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Birmingham, Richmond
MidwestExclusive moving company leads in Chicago, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Kansas City, St. Louis

WestExclusive moving company leads in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City
Do you provide exclusive moving company leads in New York?
Yes. We run exclusive moving company lead campaigns in New York, including Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens, and in more than 45 other United States metros. The leads are exclusive because they come from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account held in your name, so they are never resold and never shared with another moving company company.
Which cities do you run exclusive moving company lead campaigns in?
We run exclusive moving company lead campaigns in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix, and across roughly 50 metros nationwide. Campaigns are managed remotely, so coverage is set by where your crews actually work rather than where we are based. Smaller and rural markets are covered too, and the auction there is usually cheaper than any major metro.
Are your moving company leads shared with other companies?
No. We are not a lead seller. A shared lead is sold to three or four moving company companies at once, which is why you end up racing competitors to call first. We build and run the ad account in your name instead, so every call and form belongs to you alone, and the account, history and landing pages stay with you if we ever part ways.
How many moving company accounts have you managed?

Blue Grid Media has managed 10+ moving company accounts across the team's career. That is the number worth asking any agency for, because it tells you whether the person building your campaigns has seen your job types, your seasonality and your margins before, or is about to learn them on your budget.

Not on the list does not mean not covered. We run moving company accounts nationwide across the United States, including smaller and rural markets where the auction is usually cheaper than any metro above.

Websites and landing pages

The quote form is the whole funnel

Nobody books a mover without a number, so the page that collects room count, access and dates decides both how fast you can quote and how accurate the quote is. A short contact form gets you a phone tag loop instead of a booked truck.

Fast and mobile first

Most contractor searches happen on a phone, so the page is built to load fast there. Faster pages convert more of the clicks you have already paid for.

Call and form tracking wired in

Every call and form is connected to tracking from day one, so you can see which ads and which pages actually produce booked work rather than just traffic.

Local SEO and schema

On-page SEO and local schema markup so the site earns map and organic visibility over time instead of only working while the ads are switched on.
