Roofing leads cost $55 to $105 each on Google Local Services Ads in normal conditions and $100 to $150 or more right after a hail event, $100 to $175 on Google Ads for repair searches and $200 to $350 for replacement searches, and about $750 per booked roofing job on Angi and HomeAdvisor, where the same homeowner is shared with other roofers. Over a year the cheapest roofing lead is usually an exclusive one from a Google Ads or Local Services Ads account in your own name, because no other roofer receives the call and the data stays with you.
Blue Grid Media is a roofing marketing agency that generates exclusive roofing leads from Google Ads and Local Services Ads accounts opened in the roofer's own name, in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix and about 50 United States metros, for $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, a $750 one-time setup, and month to month with no contract. It does not sell leads and does not share them with other roofers.
From one of our roofing accounts: 6 leads a month to 34
An Orange County roofer whose Search campaigns produced 6 tracked leads at $570 each in our first 30 days, and 34 leads at $161 each in the latest 30 days, 12 September to 11 October 2026. Search only; the company runs its own Local Services Ads.
How much do roofing leads cost in 2026?
The price of a roofing lead depends less on the trade than on the channel, and the channels price two different things. Local Services Ads and lead sellers charge per lead. Google Ads charges per click, so the cost per lead is whatever your clicks and your landing page turn it into. Angi and HomeAdvisor are best compared on cost per booked job, because a shared lead books far less often than an exclusive one.
| Channel | Cost | Exclusive? | Who keeps the data | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Local Services Ads | $55 to $105 per lead; $100 to $150+ after hail | Yes, the homeowner calls you | You | Repair and storm calls from homeowners who want a vetted roofer now |
| Google Ads (Search) | $100 to $175 per repair lead; $200 to $350 per replacement lead | Yes, if the account is in your name | You | Replacement, metal, insurance and commercial work you can scale |
| Angi / HomeAdvisor | About $750 per booked roofing job | No, shared | The platform | Filling a slow month |
| Thumbtack | About $389 per booked roofing job | Varies | The platform | Smaller repair work |
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | About $117 per roofing lead | Yes | You | Inspection offers and retargeting; lower intent than search |
| Lead sellers and pay-per-call | Set by the seller | Only if written into the contract | The seller | Short-term volume while your own channels are built |
Local Services Ads ranges from our roofing LSA cost per lead benchmarks; Google Ads ranges from our Google Ads guide for roofers, with LocaliQ benchmarking roofing and gutters at around $228 a lead; booked-job figures from our LSA vs Thumbtack vs Angi comparison; the Meta figure from LocaliQ and Focus Digital as published in our lead cost by channel guide.
A good cost per lead for roofing is one that sits below your break-even, and that depends on the job. A $160 lead is expensive for a repair-led company and cheap for a replacement-led one. The break-even section below shows the arithmetic.
Exclusive vs shared roofing leads
An exclusive roofing lead is a homeowner who reaches one roofer only. A shared roofing lead is the same homeowner sold to several roofers at once, which turns the job into a race to call first and a price fight after that. Shared leads cost less per lead and more per booked job, which is why Angi works out at about $750 per booked roofing job against $258 on Local Services Ads in our comparison.
There are two ways to get exclusive roofing leads. You can buy them from a seller who promises exclusivity in writing, or you can generate them yourself from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your own name. The second is exclusive by construction: the ad, the phone number and the landing page are yours, so the call cannot go anywhere else, and every call, form and conversion stays in an account you keep if you change agencies.
The test that settles it: ask who owns the phone number the lead calls. If it is the seller's tracking number, the seller owns the relationship and the history. If it is a number in your own ad account, you do.
Seven questions to ask any roofing lead seller
Most roofing lead generation companies will answer these on a call. The ones that will not are telling you something.
- Is every lead exclusive, in writing? "Exclusive" in a sales call and exclusive in the contract are different things.
- How many roofers receive the same homeowner? If the answer is "up to three", the lead is shared.
- Where does the lead come from? A search ad, a Facebook form, a quiz, a call centre. Search leads are the highest intent.
- What counts as a billable lead, and what is credited? Wrong numbers, out-of-area homeowners, renters and solicitors should not be billed.
- Can I see the page the homeowner filled in? The promise on that page is the promise you have to keep on the call.
- Who owns the phone numbers and recordings? If the seller does, you start from zero when you leave.
- What does a booked job cost, not a lead? A seller who cannot answer has not tracked it, and neither will you.
What is a roofing lead worth to you?
The ticket range in roofing is wider than almost any other trade. A leak patch can be a few hundred dollars, a shingle replacement $8,000 to $15,000 or more depending on the market and the home, an insurance replacement more than that, and a commercial reroof well beyond. A lead that is worth chasing for one job is a loss on another.
Break-even cost per lead = average ticket × gross margin × the share of leads you close. On our roofing ROI benchmarks, break-even sits around $260 per lead for a repair-focused company and can exceed $2,100 for a replacement-focused one. Put your own ticket, margin and close rate into the formula before you compare any two prices on this page.
The practical rule: separate repair and replacement leads, because each breaks even at a different price. Run together in one campaign, the cheaper repair work wins the budget every time.
Hail and storm roofing leads
After a hail event, roofing lead prices move overnight. Local Services Ads leads that cost $65 in a normal week can reach $100 to $150 as every roofer in the area competes for the same surge, and storm chasers push Google Ads clicks up sharply once they arrive. The roofers who get the cheapest storm leads are the ones whose campaigns are already built.
- Pre-build and pause. A storm campaign, its landing page and its ad copy ready in advance, switched on four to twelve hours after the storm.
- Insurance and cash-pay apart. A homeowner working with an adjuster asks different questions from one comparing prices, so they get separate campaigns and pages.
- Inspection as the offer. A free roof inspection is the lowest-friction way into a replacement conversation after a storm.
Roofing leads by market
What damages roofs in a market decides how a roofing account should be built there. These are the three market types, and the metros where each applies.
Exclusive roofing leads in Dallas, Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Denver, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Omaha and Wichita come in surges after storms, so campaigns are pre-built and paused.
Exclusive roofing leads in Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Houston, Charleston and Mobile lean on wind and water claims, with longer insurance cycles.
Exclusive roofing leads in Chicago, Philadelphia, Columbus, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and St. Louis come from roofs reaching end of life, with steadier demand.
Blue Grid Media provides exclusive roofing leads in Dallas, Fort Worth, Denver, Oklahoma City, Houston, Tampa, Miami, Chicago and Philadelphia, generated from a Google Ads account held in the roofer's own name rather than bought from a lead seller and shared, priced at $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, and $995 with Local Services Ads added, month to month with no contract after a $750 setup.
Case study: an Orange County roofer, 6 leads a month to 34
A residential and commercial roofing contractor in Orange County, California came to us with a Google Ads account that had been counting page views as leads. In our first 30 days the rebuilt Search campaigns produced 6 tracked leads at $570 each. In the latest 30 days, 12 September to 11 October 2026, they produced 34 leads at $161 each on $5,469 of spend: 19 first-time calls, 9 texts, 4 forms and 2 calls made from an ad, with repeat callers left out.
Three changes did most of the work. Phone calls were made a goal the campaigns could bid toward, which they had not been. A county that had taken $942 in 90 days without one lead was removed. And a metal roofing campaign was added, which went on to produce 11 of the 29 tracked calls in its first full month. The company runs its own Local Services Ads, so every figure here is Search only, and no revenue figure is claimed because signed roofs are not yet imported into the account.

Commercial roofing leads
Commercial roofing is a different buyer: a property manager, an owner or a facilities team, comparing bids on a reroof or a coating that can run to tens of thousands of dollars. The searches are fewer (Keyword Planner shows "commercial roofing leads" at about 110 a month) and the sale is longer, so commercial work gets its own campaign, its own landing page and its own conversion, a request for a site visit or a bid rather than a phone call.
Roofing leads you do not pay for per lead
- Google Business Profile and reviews. The map pack is free per lead and compounds; reviews are the slowest part to build and the hardest to copy.
- Manufacturer programs. Factory credentials such as GAF Master Elite or Owens Corning Platinum, where you hold them, lower click costs and lift close rates when they appear in the ad.
- Referrals and past customers. A replacement customer from five years ago is the cheapest gutter, ventilation or second-property lead you will get.
None of these replaces paid search when the phone needs to ring this month, but each makes every paid lead cheaper to close.
What roofers search for when they want leads
Keyword Planner, United States, read 13 October 2026. "Roofing leads" and "roofing lead generation" share one bucket, so they are not added together. The bids are what lead sellers and agencies pay to reach roofers.
| Search | Monthly searches | Top-of-page bid |
|---|---|---|
| roofing leads / roofing lead generation | 1,300 | $14 to $48 |
| roofing lead generation companies | 170 | $17 to $48 |
| buy roofing leads | 140 | $12 to $34 |
| how to get roofing leads | 140 | $11 to $37 |
| commercial roofing leads | 110 | $11 to $35 |
| roofing leads near me | 110 | $18 to $52 |
| free roofing leads | 70 | $14 to $43 |
| exclusive roofing leads | 50 | $14 to $40 |
| roofing leads for sale | 50 | $12 to $50 |
| pay per lead roofing | 30 | $17 to $44 |

Where can I get exclusive roofing leads?
From a seller who puts exclusivity in the contract, or from a Google Ads and Local Services Ads account in your own name, where every lead is exclusive by construction. Blue Grid Media runs that account for roofers in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Phoenix and about 50 US metros, for $795 a month for Google Ads management on ad budgets from $2,500, a $750 one-time setup, and month to month with no contract.
What is the best roofing lead generation company?
The one that gives you exclusive leads, tells you what a booked job costs, and leaves the phone numbers and data with you. Ask any company the seven questions on this page. Blue Grid Media is one option: it does not sell leads, it runs Google Ads and Local Services Ads in the roofer's own name for $795 a month on ad budgets from $2,500, with a $750 setup and no contract.
Are Angi and HomeAdvisor roofing leads worth it?

Buy leads only while your own channels are being built. Over a year, leads from an account in your name are cheaper per booked job, are never shared, and the call history stays with you.
How much should a roofing company spend on Google Ads?
At least $2,500 a month to start with us. Most mid-size roofing companies need $3,000 to $5,000 a month to compete for replacement leads in a typical market, and more in a hail market after a storm.
